Are you out of stamps or time? Don't worry. This Mother's Day, let your mom know you love and appreciate her by surprising her with a personalized e-card in her inbox. The following Web sites offer artful and creative greeting card designs that you can customize by adding personal messages, sound and even photos.

1. Hallmark - This is, hands down, my favorite Web site for e-cards. Hallmark's colorful animated designs feature simple messages, and its Smilebox program enables you to add personal photos and music to an e-card to make it truly one-of-a-kind. Most of the e-cards are free, and the rest are quite inexpensive.

2. 123Greetings - The e-cards at 123Greetings feature sweet messages and cute animations. And the best part? All of them are free! 123Greetings also has Mother's Day e-cards for people other than your own mother, such as first-time mothers.

3. Hipster Cards - This Web site's cards are unique and clever, and some are just downright hilarious! However, take caution with sending some of them, unless your mom has a stellar sense of humor.

4. Egreetings.com - This Web site offers free e-postcards and animated e-cards with meaningful messages, such as, "Some people make such a difference in our world that we can't begin to imagine how our lives would have been without them. Happy Mother's Day to one of those people." Another sentimental card reads, "A Mother's Love... Inspires, Comforts, Renews, Supports, Encourages. You bring the beautiful message of God's love to life every day. Happy Mother's Day."

5. DaySpring - Most of this Christian greeting card company's e-cards, which are well-written, are animated with Flash, and they range in style from cartoonish to purely elegant. The Web site also points out a fabulous Bible verse related to mothers, Proverbs 31:28: "Her children stand and bless her."
