Give Your Partner a Valentine's Day Experience

Show Your Love by Giving a Great Time

V. Ann Moore
Are you wondering what to give your partner for Valentine's Day? After a while, the same old chocolates, roses, cards, and dinners become a bore. If you want to make Valentine's Day a time to remember, try focusing on sharing a new experience together. You can still give the traditional presents, but creating fun and joyful memories will likely be the present that lasts a lifetime. Here are a few ideas to help you start brainstorming the perfect Valentine's Day experience.

Explore Local Attractions

Have you and your partner discovered what the local area has to offer? Many cities and towns do provide local tours or information on local attractions. Maybe there is a museum, historical house, or haunted house you have never visited. This will make a great date for those interested in history and local pride.

Try an Outdoor Sport

Is there a sport your partner always wanted to try? Maybe, your lover would like to do some type of snow or water sport? Examples include power boating, snowboarding, white water rafting, snow ski and jet ski racing. Learning a sport together is an opportunity to help each other achieve a common goal while having fun. Also, you will be exploring something new together. If it has been a while since you and your partner had any outside-the-house playtime, then this is a great idea for a fun day or weekend out.

Seek Adventure

When was the last time you and your lover talked about doing something daring? Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane sounds like a good idea. Of course, you would have a sky diving instructor and parachutes. Perhaps, your partner hinted towards a desire to try bungee jump or parachute off a cliff at least one time in his or her life. Valentine's Day would be a great time to surprise adventure-craving lovers with a chance to live out an exciting experience with the one they love.

Activities You or Your Partner Never Tried

Has your boyfriend ever asked you to go paint balling with him? Does your wife dream of attending a Broadway classic for once in her life? Maybe, the two of you always wanted to take a long road trip to a city you never been, or you are finally willing to give in to your girlfriend's request to attend ballroom dance lessons.

If you want to find an activity for a fun day, night, or weekend, try to remember past conversations when your partner mentioned always wanting to try something or "go back" to a particular fun hobby.

You do not need to fret over finding the perfect Valentine's Day gift for your lover. For some who have materialistic partners, this may be the right route for you to take. For the rest of us, it will be the experiences and memories we share with our boyfriends, girlfriends, and spouses that will outlast most gifts traditionally received on Valentine's Day. Remember to have fun.
