Give Your Valentine the Gift of Relaxation: Serving the One You Love

Arvy Smith
Often we take our girlfriends, fiances or wives for granted. Often they are the ones who do the majority of the housework. All we do is go to work, come home and hope that dinner is ready, and if not, we usually sit on the couch, remote control in hand and wait. Sometimes we take for granted all the things that our loved one does for us. On this special day and in the future, let's break this pattern. There are a lot of things you can do to serve your loved one on Valentine's Day. Pamper her as well.

One of the ways you can do this is by doing you share of the house work and hers as well. Start off by doing the laundry. And now I don't mean throw the clothes in the wash and leave it. Wash all of the clothes and put in the dryer or hang it up on the clothes line. Once it is done, fold them and put them away. You can also tidy up around the house. My guess is that she usually does the cleaning. Clean the bathroom and yes this means the toilet as well. Clean up the kitchen and make her something for lunch or dinner. If you have a carpet then vacuum it, if you have wood floors then sweep the floors and mop. If the house could use a good dusting then break out the feather duster and get to work. There are a lot of things you can do around the house and I am sure she would appreciate any cleaning that you would do.

You can also get the bath going for her with her favorite bubble bath. Set up the bathroom with some candles and a CD player with one of her favorite CDs to relax to. Once she is done give her a foot massage or a back rub. While she relaxes you can also get her favorite drink for her. You can also run out before hand and get her favorite movie for her to watch. If you have kids, you can take them to school or to the sitters. You can also take them to do things so that she can have some quiet time to herself. What ever your loved one does for you to make your life easier, you can do it for her as well. She does her best to make sure the house runs smoothly, you can do the same and give her the break that she deserves.

If the woman in your life leads a double life, working during the day and running the house at night, then give her the help that she deserves and pitch in. She will see this as a sign of how much you love her and that you are willing to sacrifice for her as well. Serve the one you love on Valentines Day and on days after that. Give her the day off and show her just how much you truly love her.
