Giving Christmas Gifts when Funds Are Limited

Even Those with Limited Resources Can Enjoy the Holidays

Giving makes you feel good but there are times when it can drain your budget. Birthdays, holidays and anniversaries are all times when you feel the need to give gifts. It seems like every year there are more people on the holiday gift giving list than ever. You have limited income. What are you going to do?

Christmas is the one time of year when you spend money on gifts whether you have it or not. There are times when people go into debt just to keep up appearances during this time but it doesn't have to be that way. When resources are limited to begin with you have to be extra careful when making your purchases. There are some things that you can do to ensure that everyone on your list gets a gift this Christmas no matter how limited your resources.

Homemade Gifts

When you don't have a lot of money to spend on gifts you can make them for the people on your list. Candles, drawings, curtains, and even jams can all be made to give as gifts. The particular gift that you make will depend on the skills you have at crafts and creating things. If you knit you can make a scarf for someone that's always saying how cold their neck it. You can make candles out of scraps for someone on the lists that loves to have candles around but won't buy them for themselves.

Craft Supplies

If you have someone on your list that enjoys crafting you can take a jam jar and put a variety of small crafting items in it. There are scarp booking and craft supplies that can be purchased on clearance or at dollar stores rather inexpensively for the children or people that enjoy crafts on your list.

Candles

You can purchase candles as inexpensively as you can make them sometimes. There are always some candles on clearance sale or those that are always $1 a piece. It just depends on which type you're searching for. When you buy the candles you can buy a small candle holder or candle plate to go with it to prevent the one you give it to from having to search for one. Clear glass plates and holders are the simplest choice and go with virtually anything.

Photo Albums

Everyone has pictures but not everyone has somewhere to keep them where they can see them. Photo Albums come in a variety of shapes and sizes that can easily fit into the gift giving budget for those on your lists that need somewhere to show off their favorite pictures.

Gift Cards

While not the most personal of gifts you can give some of the people on your Christmas gift giving list a gift card to their favorite store. If you aren't sure you can give them a card to one of the stores that you know they shop at a great deal. One or two gift cards won't put you over budget if you're careful in your selections.

There are millions of gift suggestions for people on limited resources. The Christmas gifts that you give don't have to be expensive they just have to have some thought behind them.
