Glade Sense & Spray Vs Febreze Noticeables: Product Comparison

Carly Hart
I like my house to smell nice, so I purchase air fresheners to keep my house smelling fresh. I've used various air fresheners over the years, including Glade's Sense & Spray and Febreze's Noticeables. How do these two air fresheners stack up?

Glade Sense & Spray versus Febreze Noticeables: Scent dispersion

One thing that I love about the Glade Sense & Spray is the burst of freshness, which happens once the motion sensor has detected movement. I have one placed by my front door, so anytime I walk into the house, I am greeted by a fresh scent. In addition, anytime someone comes to my door, my own movement triggers the Glade Sense & Spray to go off, guaranteeing that whomever comes through the door will smell nothing but sweetness. It has a timer lock out, so it won't go off again until 30 minutes have elapsed. You can manually hit a button and get another puff if one is necessary.

The Febreze Noticeables, on the other hand, doesn't have this feature. It is plugged in 24/7 and has two settings - low and high. There's no burst of extra freshness - what you smell is what you get. This is a good option for places that you want to smell good all of the time, such as a bathroom. You can even get Febreze Noticeables as a night light, which is perfect for a bathroom.

If you need only an occasional burst of air freshener, a Glade Sense & Spray may be just the ticket. However, if you like a long-lasting, constant scent, then a Febreze Noticeables may be the air freshener that best suits your needs.

Cost of starter kits and refills for Glade Sense & Spray and Febreze Noticeables

Buying the initial unit for either air fresheners is an investment. A Febreze Noticeables starter kit will cost about $8.99 for an item that is not on sale and without a coupon. A Glade Sense & Spray starter kit will cost a little more - closer to the $10 range. However, both companies do put out coupons for their starter kits and refills quite frequently if you watch the Sunday paper.

As for refills, this is where the true cost of ownership lies. A Sense & Spray refill is about $3.50-$4.00 depending upon where you shop and a Noticeables refill can be pricey at about $5.50 at many of the stores I shop at. The best deal for Noticeables is buying the dual refill packs, which cost about as much as a starter kit. Keeping the Noticeables on the low setting will extend the life of the refill.

Cost-wise, the refills for the Glade Sense & Spray are typically cheaper.

Scent variety matters too

Glade Sense & Spray has just 6 scents to choose from. Conversely, Febreze Noticeables offers 16 scents, including several exotic ones to freshen your home. I personally love the Moroccan Bazaar, particularly around the holidays. If you like to mix up your scents, Febreze Noticeables offers far more options for freshening your home.

Which is better? Glade Sense & Spray or Febreze Noticeables?

If cost effectiveness matters to you most, Glade Sense & Spray is the one for you. If, however, you enjoy a large variety of scents, then Febreze's Noticeables will be more likely to have the scents that you enjoy available to you as refills. Whichever air freshener you choose for your home will leave it smelling fresh and inviting.

I use the Scent Candles with the warmers I tried the plug ins and the ones that spray when someone walks by but they did not last long enough for my needs.

"What you smell is what you get." Great line! Seriously, I'm very impressed with Glade products.
