'Glass House' Sarah Palin Throws Stones at Schwarzenegger

Valerie Ferrari
When Fox Business asked Sarah Palin about her reaction to the news that ex-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child out of wedlock with a member of his household staff and managed to keep it a secret for 10 years, the former running mate of John McCain had this to say:

"I feel so bad for his children, for his four beautiful children. You know, it must be quite embarrassing for them. It's a really pretty disgusting thing he did, pretty much denying that he had a child for 10 years. That's how I look at it. Speaks to his character. It's sad."

Pretty cheeky talk coming from a lady who announced that her unmarried teenage daughter was having a child out-of-wedlock right after agreeing to run for Vice-President alongside Republican presidential candidate, John McCain in the 2008 president race, which Obama won.

No one would say that one factor lost the White House for McCain, but it certainly didn't help. And we can't exactly compare McCain's embarrassment to Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, can we? For Shriver, it's a personal matter. For McCain, It was a bit of a political mess and he must have had one really big instant regret moment when he heard that bombshell. Palin has often been criticized as a woman who can't even run her own household yet still thinks she can call out other people on their morals.

Author, Joe Mathews thinks the betrayal of public trust angle is off base. In addition to writing "The People's Machine," a book about Schwarzenegger's political life, he also covered the Governator's administration for the "L.A. Times."

"He never promised to be good or faithful in his personal dealings," Mathews said. "No one has the right to say he betrayed the public on this. He didn't run on family values. He didn't do holier than thou."

An interesting point, indeed; however, Arnold Schwarzenegger must have known he couldn't have even been elected dog-catcher if the news got out so there is an element of deception there all the same.

As for Palin's concern over the Schwarzenegger children, she should say five children. The child Arnold had with domestic temptress Patty Baena is also an innocent victim in this. To use yet another cliche, he didn't ask to be born.
