Glass Quilts

A Poem About Stained Glass

Mike Hazelwood
Green, blue, and red,
Schemes made in light,
Telling stories
Knit by Christ's might

Stories created unique,
Into stained glass,
Made by men,
Foretelling the past,

Samson, David, and Jesus
Their stories unfold,
In quilts of light,
Stories are told.

Beggars, lepers, and sinners
Healings in time
Captured moments,
In colors, glass sublime.

God's love shows bright,
Made in glass art.
From crafted windows,
His sensitivity set apart.

Church windows burn
Scripts into my brain.
Mosaics tell stories,
Of His love and pain.

Glass is not glass,
If made into an art.
Broadcast in windows,
Quilts of light impart.
