With the sponsorship of Liberty Bank in Godfrey Illinois, the Godfrey Parks and Recreation Department is hosting three free outdoor movie nights through the long summer months. Outdoor movies have become a growing trend recently, enabling families to enjoy summer evenings outdoors, while watching a fantastic family flick on a big screen. The Godfrey Parks and Recreations Department have been providing free outdoor movie nights at Glazebrook Park for several years now, and this year's lineup of family oriented movies is sure to produce a good turnout.

Despicable Me (2010), a G-rated, computer-animated 3D comedy starring Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Russell Brand starts off the summer movie series. Produced by Universal, and directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, it is the story of Gru, a super villain, who uses three orphan girls in a diabolical scheme. As the tale goes on, Gru finds himself changing for the better all because of the girl's innocent love.

Justin Bieber, Never Say Never (2011), is a G-rated, 3D documentary and concert film starring none other than Justin Bieber. If you have tweens or teens, they are sure to enjoy this movie. Released in February of this year, this G-rated film follows Justin the ten days before his concert performance on August 31, 2010, in Madison Square Garden. The film also includes home videos from Justin's childhood

Disney's Tangled (2010), is a PG-rated, animated musical film starring Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi and Eugene Fitzherbert, aka Flynn Rider and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel. The movie plot is taken from the old German fairytale Rapunzel, written by the Brothers Grimm. It is a cute film that is sure to be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages.

There is ample parking and the movies begin at dusk. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, snacks, and blankets. If you forget your snacks, the concession stand will be open selling cool treats, popcorn, glow necklaces, and much more.
