Glee to Make Rocky Horror Picture Show Themed Episode

Towards the end of this past weekends Comic-Con 2010 in San Diego Glee creator Ryan Murphy gave an audience of the shows fans a glimpse at ideas he has for the second season of the wildly popular FOX musical show.

His biggest announcement of the day wasn't just the already hyped episode devoted entirely to Britney Spears, but the episode Murphy plans to make devoted entirely to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The audience in Ballroom 20 was allowed to ask the cast and Murphy what they wanted to do with the episode and cast member Chris Colfer said he'd like to sing "Time Warp" the cult classic's signature song. The audience cheered at the announcement and when the meet-and-greet was over they left the ballroom to the original version of "Time Warp."

Ryan Murphy also announced he and the producers decided to trim the number of musical numbers per episode. Each episode starting with season two will have five songs instead of eight. Murphy told the audience that the musical demands, "Got to be a little much."

Murphy went on to say, "People think we're gonna be bigger and bigger, more crazy. The second season is designed to be a little more intimate. It's just feedback, feedback from the fans."

Murphy also hinted at other show ideas, including an episode devoted to cheerleader Brittany and a show that follows diva Mercedes to her church.

Joking to the crowd "Nothing says Super Bowl to me like 'Glee,' " Murphy also talked about the much publicized episode airing in February right after the Super Bowl. Murphy told the crowd, "We're in negotiation to do a really big tribute episode, but we haven't closed it yet, so I can't say."
