If you missed this week's episode of Glee, you've just got to see it. The episode is called "Grilled Cheesus" and has everyone on Twitter tweeting about it.
Glee's spiritual based episode is really getting everyone talking this morning...whether you agree or not, Glee's Grilled Cheesus is a definite conversation starter about spirituality in public schools.
Ok,so here's a short recap, be prepared, Spoilers ensue!
The show starts with Finn making himself a grilled cheese sandwich on a George Forman grill and when he opens the lid, walla! There sits his grilled cheese with a vivid Jesus image on the sandwich. Finn decides it is a sign for him to become more spiritual in his life and proceeds to pray to the grilled cheese sandwich, thus making it his
GRILLED CHEESUS.
He prays,
"Dear Grilled Cheesus, first of all, you are super delicious...please Grilled Cheesus, please let us win our first football game...and to honor you cheesy Lord, I'll make sure we honor you in Glee class this week." .
So, along with much, much more, a whole lot of of spiritual conversations and emotions are happening throughout the show. Curt's Dad has a heart attack and ends up in a coma, Rachel lets Finn touch her boobs and Finn thinks it's because he prayed to his Grilled Cheesus. Curt doesn't believe in God so everyone tries to pray for him and it brings up a lot of spiritual talk.
I wasn't quite sure how to take this show, on one hand they did honor God, but also had a lot of humor to lighten things up as the show was based on tragedy with Curt's Dad. You'll just have to see the 43:42 min. episode which I've posted a video below or on hulu.com here, and make your own decisions.

Grilled Cheesus on twitter is still a trending topic. See for yourself. Below I've clipped a few lines from Twitter on the trending topic GRILLED CHEESUS and found this;

I can't accept Grilled Cheesus as my Lord and Savior. It's not that I'm an Athesit, I'm just lactose intolerant.

They should create a special Glee version of the George Foreman Grill that makes every sandwich a Grilled Cheesus.

    I don't really find religious mockery to be funny. I've never seen the show. Oh, by the way, come be a part of the Word Portrait game, if you like. :)

    The very first episode of Glee turned me off with too much sexual inuendo and making fun of some Christian kid. So I haven;t been watching.

    I loved the episode, and great recap. I think they did a great job of capturing so many different religions, including non religions such as atheism and why so many times people because of great hurt get angry and turn against God. I thought at first it appeared a little irreverent, with Finn, but then that is so true. People wanting God to give them what they want. Excellent episode, and yes I believe that it is ridiculous not to have religion in school. Besides people can pray silently if it really bothers others.
