Glee'sDave Karofsky may despise singing, dancing, and anything remotely "gay," but the actor Max Adler actually loved performing Thriller in the Super Bowl episode and has the pipes to back it up. In high school, Max Adler was first chair in his All-State show-choir.

Adler also showed his acting chops during Glee's Super Bowl episode. His compelling facial expressions conveyed a wide range of emotions, providing depth to a character who could have been seen as one-dimensional.

Many viewers are probably wondering what will eventually happen to Karofsky, the closeted football player who bullies other students as a way of dealing with his own insecurities.

In a TV Guide interview, Adler speculates about Karofsky's eventual fate. Although he has not seen the script, Adler believes that a happy ending may be in store for Karofsky.

"Ryan [Murphy] did say that he could do something dark -- either booze or pills or suicide contemplation -- but he wants a happy ending. Whoever is relating to Karofsky's story out there, I think it would be a horrible ending for him to do something dark. It would just be shattering. So I do agree that for the message of the show and for the kind of show Glee is, it will go that [happier] route."

Glee
fans seem to be divided on what they want for Karofsky. Many would love to see a happy ending. A strong minority of viewers even support a relationship between Karofsky and Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer). Yet others are not keen on the idea. They don't want the show to send the message that bullies can get away with abusive behavior and they fear that Karofsky's redemption would be too contrived.

I'm one of the viewers who would like to see a positive outcome because while Glee often explores dark humor and weighty topics, it is still first and foremost a happy show. If Karofsky can become a better person and find redemption in a realistic way, then there's no reason why Glee can't give him a happy ending.

The TV Guide interview also mentioned that Glee was looking to buy the rights to Lady Gaga's new single, Born This Way, an anthem about self-acceptance. Adler has hinted that he would like Karofsky's character to perform this anthem as a way of coming out.

"It's almost like an angry-sounding song but the lyrics are amazing...I would also like for Karofsky to eventually come out. I think that would be an awesome story."

Does Dave Karofsky deserve redemption and a happy ending? Does Kurt Hummel belong with handsome Blaine or teddy bear Karofsky?
