The title of this episode refers to Coach Beiste , the manly looking female football coach whom the glee boys (and a girl) start picturing in order to control their hormones in heated situations. When she finds out she is naturally crushed and admits to the glee director that she has never been kissed. The always sympathetic and all around cutie pie, Will Schuster, gives her a pep talk and the expected kiss.
Then there was the openly gay Kurt, who shared a surprise same sex kiss with a football player that has been bullying him. When he visits an all boy prep school to scope out some glee club competition, he meets Blaine, an openly gay new comer to the show, who encourages Kurt to stand up for himself after singing Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream". (Naturally, the internet is a buzz with whether or not Kurt and Blaine will become more than friends, but that is beside the point of this week's episode.) When Kurt confronts his bully, the football jock plants a big one on a shocked Kurt.
And of course, no successful Glee episode is complete without some sweet melodies and fierce dance moves. The boys vs. girls rivalry was fired up again, this time with a gender bending twist. What erupted was an eyebrow raising mash-up as the girls performed an electrifying rendition of "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones and "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. The boys also lit up the choir room as they apologized to Coach Beiste by serenading her with "Stop in the Name of Love" by the Supremes and "Free Your Mind" by En Vogue.
The only complaint that this Gleek has is that the writers need to slow it down. Nothing happens for most of the season and then all of the sudden we're hit with this? Pace yourselves, guys.
