Glen Beck - Fox's Bad Boy

Like Him or NOt, He's Not Going Anywhere-At Least NO Time Soon

Beth Inman
Like him or not, Glenn Beck is going nowhere. The newest Bad Boy on Fox News tells it just like he thinks it is and it does not seem to matter who doesn't like it. Glen Beck has cost Fox News channel plenty in lost advertisement revenue. But they have also picked up many new viewers, even if only out of curiosity. Deliverer of his own opinion and reviews of top political issues, Glen Beck holds your attention like a house on fire. Like him or not, you have to admit that he delivers his opinion in a very unconventional manner, one that captures your attention and makes you wonder what he will say next.

Glen Beck is no stranger to struggles; loosing his mother at a young age and fighting his own battles with alcohol and substance abuse have strengthened his resolve. He doesn't appear to be one to back down even when the odds are stacked against him.

Born in Mt Vernon, Washington, on February 10th 1964, Glen Lee Beck is not new to the political scene. Calling himself a libertarian with conservative views, he claims to be fighting for the rights of each and every one of us. Glen Beck got his first broadcasting gig at the age of 13. He was fired more than once and he bounced from city to city, station to station trying to find the one spot that fit. Glen Beck has been fighting his way to the top and it looks like that fight has paid off.

Hosting the Glen Beck Show on Fox is not his only job. Glen Beck hosts his own nationally syndicated radio talk show, The Glen Beck Program. He has also authored a new book, "Arguing With Idiots".

Beck appears to support private charity, limited government and the responsibility each of us has to home, health and country. He also supports the right to own a firearm and supports the right to life. Glen Beck has made many critical and personal statements about the Obama administration that have brought a great deal of attention to himself as well as Fox News. Not backing away from Beck, Fox News supports Beck and has not cancelled his show as many hoped would happen.

Who would have guessed ten years ago, this guy would be where he is today? I am sure he didn't. So how do you know when you have really arrived? How do you know you have made an impact, or perhaps stepped on some toes? Well, you find yourself the subject of the latest satire on SNL. Glen Beck has been there; in a very short skit that showed Barack Obama giving interviews to all station representatives, all except Glen Beck. Beck was played by Jason Sudeikis. The skit was based on Glen Beck's over-the-top personality and Obama's refusal to give time to Fox News.

One of Y!CN's top writers, I lead a very busy life, but am learning to take time to do the things I like to do... for me. One of those things is to write.  View profile

Great info! Yeah, I give Fox a lot of credit for standing behind him. If people would only get past his longer rants, like they're willing to do for more liberal commentators, they'd see his info is backed up with real statistics, and he has guests with unquestionable credentials and info.

One of the only commentators with the courage to expose the 3rd-year Junior Associate lawyer and adjunct lecturer.

I have been listening to Beck on his radio show for years - since before the 2004 election. Love his info but his over the top presentation wears on me a little, but I can live with it for the info I get from him.

He does bring up some subjects that need to be addressed. I admit that the passion can appear a little over board at times, but he goes where no man has gone before and A lot of people are following him.

He certainly has some very compelling questions for the obama administration...which remains unanswered..questions that should be asked by all of us.

For so long O'Reilly dominated the ratings and FoxNews. Glenn is giving him a run for his money, now! I enjoy Glenn's research and his method of delivery. Nope. He's not going anywhere anytime soon! His other book has been #1 on the NY Times Best Seller List longer than any other book. It's called "Common Sense".
