On September 12, we pulled together in patriotism. The world had changed, and we were determined to survive. We gave to the people affected by the bombings. We rallied around the president. For the next several days, me and my coworkers in the security office worked 20 hour days to protect our base. For the next several months, we worked 12 hour days, six days a week. The citizens of this country were willing to sacrifice for America's survival.
Bad news surrounds us. Big banks are struggling to hold their heads above water. Politicians lie to us. Houses are worth less than what people owe on them. But there are still good people in this country. People like Sergeant Greg Stube, who was injured in Afghanistan in 2006, but still loves his country and holds on to his integrity.
Survivors have communities around them, according to Ben Sherwood, who has written a book on Survivors. A country composed of isolated people will not be a country of survivors. Survivors often have God in our lives. Faith was the number one factor in the reason why survivors get through tough times.
The 912 project was put together by Glenn Beck, with the intent on family and friends gathering together and make something of this country. There are still people that believe in integrity in this country. There are still people that care. We don't have to lie down and be victims! We have a choice. We can bury our heads in the sand and not think about the danger, we can live in fear of the economy and what is going on in the world around us, or we can gather together as a country, pick ourselves up and dust off the hardship that surrounds us, and not only survive, but thrive.
I choose to do the latter. It's not because everything has been peachy. We've been through tough times recently. Our house caught on fire less than a year ago and we were forced to move. My husband lost jobs. We were without health insurance for a while, and while we were without health insurance, my children got very sick and had to go to the emergency room. Our income is currently below the poverty level. But I will not give up. It is for this reason that I write. How about you? Did you lose your home? Have you lost income? You don't have to be a victim either.
Glenn Beck's program focuses on nine principals and twelve values. The twelve values are charity, courage, gratitude, hard work, honesty, hope, humility, moderation, personal responsibility, reverence, sincerity, and thrift. Our founding fathers lived by these principals. These are the values that made our country great. Many of us still hold these values as important. If, as a country, we could get back to these principals, we could be great again.
Glenn Beck is going to have another special on Saturday, September 12th, to report on the progress that we have made. Are you up to the challenge?
Glen Beck's 9.12 web site is at http://the912project.com . Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be up yet.

Post a CommentDear Glenn,
I wanted you to know that you are not alone in your frustration and bewilderment towards what is currently going on in this country. Personally, I have not slept well in over a year, worried and wondering why Americans, and particularly the media, are not standing up against individuals and organizations who are clearly trying to destroy what makes our county exceptional; the individual freedoms associated with our free-market system.
Without a doubt, America has been the greatest and most successful social experiment in freedom the world has ever witnessed. Nearly a century and a half ago we slaughtered over 600,000 of our own countrymen because we were not living up to the ideals of our founding documents and thus have become the envy of every country on this planet, often times to our detriment (strangely enough). America's renowned "rugged individualism" is something so unique and beautiful that it will be admired and written about for centuries to come.
For
Rhis reckless spending by Congress and Obama must be brought under control.
Are there e-mails available fcr our Congressmen and Senators?
I need the info. for more efficient contact with them.
Thanks
I agree america is a great nation but the only way to keep it great is to Keep it one nation under GodPlease lets putGod back in the schools and see what happens
I am a advocate of term limits...it seems our elected officials become complacient in doing their jobs....also, I believe our founding Fathers never relized how huge our population would become. the ratio of the population/ verses congressmen should changed...congress is to big to ever agree on anyhing
At 48 I have seen them come and go. The only change is the ability to tell the truth. Greed has produced the virus that has spread out of control of the main stream human being. A shake of the hand was a contract that would never give way to lies, because of the fear of being tagged. Common sense? What is common sense? a place, person, thing? I may be under educated, and not that smart. But I do know I am living faster than I would like. When will our children have time to enjoy their lives at an even pace without worrying night and day of what will proceed them. The end game will come when the almighty decides so... I say why rush, enjoy the life trip. Also, Thanks Gwen, I just noticed your comment, we need more to come forward, and as they do we may find out we are not alone, or in small numbers.
Darlene, there are already grass roots movements underway for term limits. I've been hearing about it on Dave Ramsey. If you google it you can probably find out how you can get involved in your area :-)
I want to know how to organize a grass roots movement for term limits on all our legislatures - house and senate. Another party isn't the problem; career politicians are the problem. Once they get in there is no way to get them out - because power and authority goes to their heads - dems and repubs...and now libertarian? That is just not the answer.
What ever happened to trust?
More important in our world today who can we trust? When I listen to the various news broadcasters I wonder how many feel they have a moral responsibility to tell the truth, not what is the perception but the truth? Jesus knows the measure of each of our hearts and tells us to cultivate discernment. I can only hope and pray all of the prominent news casters are aware now, more than ever before of what an important role they play. Americans have lost their trust in the leaders of this nation, trust is something that is earned and not something automatically given. Hoepfully Glenn Beck is exercising discernment in his broadcasts in these uncommon times.
If we can't count on our fellow Christians who can we count on? May God bless our country, the leaders of our country and most important those who we the general populice rely on to keep us informed. While we no longer can afford to be complacent we must base our actions on that which indeed is the reality
Name the new 3rd party the "Patriot Party".
Hey Nina. You are an idiot. Why don't you go back to Mexico.
