Glenn Beck

The Financial Crisis

J. Michael Warner
Amazing, we are deep in the throes of a financial crisis. A financial crisis that Glenn Beck and Ron Paul both predicted was coming. I am sure this came as a shock to many people. Ron Paul has been shrugged off as crazy by many in the mainstream media for years. With Glenn Beck it is the same, just another wack job, don't listen to him! Now all of a sudden Ron Paul is being interviewed by many in the mainstream media on the economic and financial crisis, and Glenn Beck is enjoying a renewed popularity.

What amazes me even more is that the same wack jobs that got us into this mess are still in charge and are now trying to figure out how to get out of it. The financial crisis has spread to worldwide catastrophic proportions. The leadership here in America is doing an abysmal job of "fixing" this problem. President Bush, Congress, Ben Bernanke, Henry Paulson, along with lobbyists for groups like ACORN, are responsible for this financial mess. Fingers are being pointed everywhere, yet none of these "leaders" are willing to accept the blame. If they accept the blame it would mean that the current fix would also be wrong and they would have to come up with a plan that really works.

Glenn Beck has been talking about free market capitalism for a couple years now and the fact that we are straying from the principals that our country was founded on. In capitalism we have risk, reward and sometimes yes, we also have failure. Our government is trying to take failure out of the system and by doing so, they are turning us into a socialist country. Glenn has pointed this out many times on The Glenn Beck radio show and on CNN's Headline News Glenn Beck Show.

There is an old saying: Don't write checks that your ass can't cash! That is what our country has been doing for quite some time. Now in the midst of a financial crisis and a meltdown in the stock market, we are writing even more checks. Glenn Beck is right. Our financial system and stock market need to fail, reset themselves and start over again. By printing more dollars in an attempt to bail our financial system out, we are just prolonging the pain.

Glenn Beck has been suggesting that people read The Forgotten Man by Amity Shlaes and Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg. I don't know exactly how long Glenn has been recommending these books, but it has been at least a year, well before the financial crisis hit. Reading these two books will give you an excellent education on why the current government fixes are wrong.

Glenn Beck recommended The Forgotten Man because it is about the Great Depression. The book covers why it started, why it was prolonged and how it affected the people living through the depression. Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg explains the history of fascism and by reading it you can see the correlation between the fascism in Europe in the early 1900's and the fascism being touted by our own government now.

As Americans we look to our country's leaders for answers. The answers we are getting are not correct. The same people that got us into this mess don't have a clue how to get us out of it and most likely will only make things worse. It is time to demand better leadership. I fear that that will not happen until it really starts to hit ordinary Americans in the waist line. When Americans do get fed up with being misled then I suggest we clean house in Washington and start looking at the leaders in our country that predicted this mess, to help figure out how to get through it. Men like Ron Paul and Glenn Beck would be a good place to start.

  • Glenn Beck predicted our current economic and financial crisis.
  • Our country is straying from capitalism into socialism in an attempt to fix our financial markets.
  • We should look to people like Glenn Beck to help recover from this financial crisis.
Glenn Beck is a self educated man that appears to have read a lot. The good thing is, Glenn has chosen well on what he reads and now seems to be a respected authority on the history of our country and the capitalist system.

It is amazing how many people attack Glenn just because he tells the truth. I guess the truth hurts. These same people would probably have hanged our founding fathers before they had a chance to write the Constitution. The Glenn Beck haters are the real wacko's.
