On his FNC show yesterday, Beck led off his first segment with a warning that many of Obama's radical supporters-Bill Ayers, Andy Stern, Anita Dunn who admires Mao, Ron Bloom, one of Obama's czars, and the ever-photogenic Rev. Wright-are people who have access to the president. Using his ever-trusty blackboard to illustrate his train of thought, Beck then proceeded to paste the pictures of the aforementioned villains for all to see.
In his continual "all-things-connect" approach, Beck revisited the origins of the ideological schism behind these radical progressives, blaming them, at least in the US, on the Cloward-Piven/Weather Underground divide. Cloward-Piven-sociologists who wanted to put everyone on welfare to force a political crisis-wanted to go the "peaceful" route of merely infiltrating and collapsing the existing system. Weather Underground, from which violent revolutionaries like Bill Ayers the Unrepentant Terrorist (as Hannity calls him) come, chose to go the violent route of...you know...blowing things up to force political change.
Another Weather Underground founder, Jeff Jones, according to Beck, presently works at the Apollo Alliance, which-ready yourselves, everyone!-also employs Van Jones! Alright, you should all be up on your Glenn Beck lessons by now, but in case you don't remember, Jones is the proud Communist and 911 Truther who had to resign last year after being justly exposed by Beck. 911 Truthers believe the US government is so bloodthirsty that they could kill their own people in a 911 attack.
Beck took this belief system of the Truthers and applied it to Van Jones and, more specifically, his close proximity to Obama. Beck then asked the rhetorical question, If people like Jones believe the US government with the president as its head is capable of killing its own people...then wouldn't that just set off people like him if he believed that Obama would go soft and try to moderate because of the MA senate seat going to the GOP? To be sure, it's a question that has its merits. People as fundamentally radicalized like Jones et al shouldn't be enjoying access to any president, period.
Beck wasn't done there-not by a long shot. Taking this concept further, Beck reasonably argued that Obama, nonetheless, is in a political bind currently since he's alienated all the forces of center-right influence. He obviously is rejecting anything the GOP does, shutting them out from the healthcare debate in example. Even moderate Dems like Lieberman (yes, he's an "independent," but he votes with them always) and Deeds get thrown under the proverbial bus when they oppose parts of Obama's agenda. Thus, Obama is left with only one option: throwing more, proverbial red meat to the only base that he's still got clout with, the radical and violent progressives. But as Beck feasibly pointed out (yes, you really have to listen close to and even do your own research based on what Beck says, but it's all got credibility), those progressives are getting restless in an explosive way.
In classic Beck fashion, he closed this very thought-provoking, opening segment by the type of swollen metaphors and excessive drama that has earned him a bit of well-founded criticism from his detractors. Comparing the current fight for the US Constitution he believes is coming, or well may be here already, Beck implores his audience to not only fight the radical progressive forces of Obama, but at least be prepared to risk their fortune doing so. Because of such theatrical flourishes, Beck, unfortunately, opens himself up easily to his unfair critics who love to paint him as a lunatic, but if you really, really, really examine what he's saying and do your own research, you'll see the merit behind his assertions.

Post a Commentmarc, you do such a good job making hash out of this whole mess. thanks for what you do.
The only thing Glenn Beck is worried about is that someone will not kill the President.
Hope you are wrong on this one...Beck's rhetoric can stir up the crazies in any party.
I don't listen to Beck but I don't think Obama is in any danger from his own or anyone else.
Very scary information. It is too bad that there is so much warring going on in our own country between our government and the division in our country. Great article.
Beck is stirring up far right frenzy against Obama. That is the real fear.
If Beck's theory comes to fruition, it will be Obama who brought it upon himself!
Would never allow a president to get harmed in any way If I could prevent it. Great article good warning of the left fring.
That's compassionate of Glenn. :)
