It's time to start all those summer home improvement projects thanks to Glidden Paint's free giveaway. From June 25th through July 2nd, you can get a free quart of paint; you pick your favorite color and then Glidden will send a quart of eggshell finish paint back to you within three to four weeks.

Glidden's free paint giveaway is a great way to sample a new color without the commitment cost of a gallon of the wrong paint color. Before you start any home improvement project, take all the measurements so you will get the exact amount of paint that is needed to complete the project on time and without many additional expenses

Painting a room is a great way to redecorate without the large costs of demolition and renovation. There are lots of great websites out there like Glidden, Sherwin-Williams, Behr and many others that have sample paint choices and programs that let you see how the colors look together. In store paint displays offer lots of paint samples and brochures that give you an idea of different color samples and complimentary color choices.

Another thing to consider when deciding to repaint a room is the type of paint finish necessary for the different functions of the room. Many types of paint finishes are not good for high traffic rooms like kitchens and bathrooms because they aren't made for frequent cleaning. Glidden's free paint offer is for the eggshell type finish. Eggshell is very similar to matte finish except it has a slight amount of sheen to it after it is completely dried. Eggshell is a good choice for family rooms because it will stand up to cleaning a little better than most matte and flat paint finish. Many retail stores have examples of the different types of paint finishes.

Glidden's free paint offer is sure to be a hit. The free paint is great for small projects or a good way to test out a new color without the expense of several gallons of paint. The only drawback to Glidden's free paint offer is the fact that you have to wait to get your paint by mail and there is always a risk that the paint color you receive doesn't look like what you thought you were ordering. Nevertheless, Glidden's free paint offer is a great way to finish a small project or test a new color out for the living room or a bedroom.
