There's a shaded light of hope
that pursues a fiction future
in my days of life
within comfortable and pleasant people
who criticize but will not rob me
of anything I hold dear--
fortune, one might say is on my side--
thought I find myself in a similar hole
a jail of sorts locked from all
sides--no money to pay--
but all forms of objects to pay for
the sudden Age of Sophisticated Robbery
an extension to cable companies
when what we see on television
twenty times a week
costs twenty times what I owe
yet there it is one ray of light
poking holes in my reality
a taste of life so, far away--
Love--
so evasive and slippery
when held
if only it would visit
as often as these bills.
