Global Predictions for 2007

Summer Minor
I began my path as a Tarot card reader at the age of 16 when my mother bought me my first Tarot card deck. It was cheesy and silly and made more for fun than for any real Tarot work, but it fueled my fire and helped me to begin my craft. Now ten years later and I have added numerous new decks to my collection, each offering a fresh perspective on the tales that each card can tell us. Now for the first time I am offering my Tarot services on AC. Sit back and enjoy as I share my month by month global predictions using the Mythic Tarot deck.

January - The Ace of Swords
Here we meet Athene, goddess of Justice, holding her sword high in the air. She stands in a barren and rocky landscape with snowcapped mountains and fierce clouds welling up behind her. The ace of any suit marks a beginning, a start of something new. This card tells us that new mental powers are awakening, but from this there will be conflict. Changes and breaking down of the old order are coming.

February - Ten of Swords
Here we see Athene once again holding her sword in her hand. At her feet lying helpless and near death is Orestes, a man hunted by the furies for the crime of killing his mother. The furies themselves stand before Athene, who holds up her hand to stop them from their duty. A fence of swords blocks their path. In this card we see the end of a difficult situation. Finally the truth is faced, the conflict is over, and a new peace can begin.

March - Two of Swords
Orestes is now before us, standing between his dueling parents. His eyes are closed and his hands are covering his ears, he chooses not to see the growing conflict between his parents. This card shows us a tense balance and an uneasy peace. Refusing to face the growing crisis can only lead to destruction.

April - Temperance
The goddess Isis, messenger to Hera stands on the shore of a beautiful stream. A rainbow stretches across the sky and circles her. In her hands she holds a gold cup and a silver cup, from which she pours clear water from the golden cup into the silver. This card shows us harmony and cooperation, the balance of a peaceful heart. There is peace, but we must remember that even peace has a drawback in that there is no stimulus for growth and change which can cause stagnation.

May - Queen of Cups
Here is the most beautiful Helen of Troy, sitting on a golden throne engraved with snakes. She is wearing a blue-green dress that blends into the water from the stream at her feet. In one hand she holds a golden chalice, in the other a golden apple. This card represents the deeper levels of feeling and emotion within one's soul. The Queen of Cups tells us to become aware of our inner feelings that may fly in the face of logic and common morality.

June - Knight of Cups
Upon the Knight of cups we find the mythic hero Perseus riding a magnificent white horse across a peaceful stream while carrying a golden chalice. A single fish jumps from the water, echoing the silver fish tail from his helmet. This card often signifies love and romance, the light headed dizzy feeling that comes from a new love. A new age of romanticism is beginning.

July - Four of Pentacles
On this card we see Daedalus tightly clutching four golden pentacles in his arms. He is staring angrily at a young boy who is busy working at a table next to him. This card warns about holding on too tightly to things and the fear of loss wrapped within that. Energy is stagnated and nothing new can be gained because of the fear of losing it all.

August - Death
Here stands the god Hades, lord of the underworld, dressed in a black robe and a silver helmet covering his face. He holds his hands out to accept the gifts offered to him by the tiny humans at his feet. A man offers gold, a woman offers a crown, and a child offers up a single flower. As with mortal death this card means that something has come to an end. Whether the end is painful or joyous depends on how the end is accepted. This end can be the rigger for something new to begin.

September - The Hanged Man
Now we see Prometheus, the Titan who defied Zeus and gave fire to the humans on earth. He is shackled to a cliff, upside down and nearly naked, though his face is calm and serene. Prometheus possessed the gift of prophecy and new what would happen if he chooses to go against Zeus, and yet he did so anyway. This card shows us the need for a voluntary sacrifice. Like Prometheus something must be given up no matter the cost for the greater good that can come of it.

October - The Emperor
Zeus, king of the gods, sits before us in his golden throne. In one hand he holds three lightning bolts; in the other he holds the world. Perched upon his shoulder sits his golden eagle. This card is the father, or father-figure in both its negative and positive forms. This card urges us to build something, to crate, to make our ideas concrete. However, this card can also warn us of the oppressive tyrant who holds authority over the world and seeks to force his ethics and ideologies onto others.

November - The Empress
Pregnant and glowing here we meet Demeter, goddess of nature and the defenseless. She stands within a field of ripe grains, next to a waterfall that flows into a stream. Her dress is a deep brown and decorated with flowers and leaves on vines. This is a card of an earthy phase, one of the body and our instincts. The birth of something new is implied, something that has been growing and changing is ready for the next step.

December - The High Priestess
Persephone, daughter of Demeter, greets us at the bottom of a dark stairway. She stands between two pillars, one black and one white, holding a pomegranate fruit and a handful of white flowers. Behind her the stairs lead out into the beautiful field that Demeter stands in. But here Persephone waits below the surface to guide us. In this card we see the strengthening of instincts, of our feeling understanding and knowledge, of our unconscious. This is the place where secrets are taught and where destiny is learned. Here the seeds of change and new potential are waiting.
