Emails Appear to Prove Fabrication of Climate Change Statistics
Dr. Phil Jones, head of the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (CRU) has confirmed that emails, pdf files and other documents that have been hacked and leaked are, in fact, genuine. The stolen data contains over a decade of worth of 1,000 emails and 3,000 documents between top British and U.S. climate change researchers. The global warming correspondence has been posted on web sites since being leaked.
What makes this story so important is the fact that the leaked emails between climate change researchers show a clear pattern of deception and manipulation of statistics in order to further their theory that climate change is a man-made phenomenon. The release of these emails, which can be found on the web in an organized manner here, can now be reviewed by other scientists to verify the manipulation of climate change statistics.
One of the most publicized emails from Phil Jones refers to his fabrication of statistics in a clear attempt to hide the decline of temperatures, which flies in the face of global warming theories. There has been some evidence that global temperatures have ceased their upward climb since the early 1960's and this email seems to attempt to hide this evidence. . The "Mike" referred to in the email is Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University.

Once Tim's got a diagram here we'll send that either later today or first thing tomorrow. I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd [sic] from1961 for Keith's to hide the decline. Mike's series got the annual land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999 for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.

The timing of the leaked global warming documents is interesting because it comes just as 192 nations will meet in Copenhagen for the U.N. climate conference. The purpose of the climate change conference is to reduce greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide emissions through a worldwide treaty. The Democrats in congress are also attempting to pass Cap and Trade legislation which attempts to penalize companies producing carbon dioxide emissions over a government -set level.
The CRU is one of the most influential climate research facilities and their research and mathematical models have been used extensively for the United Nations Climate Change Reports. These reports will be used to create the binding treaties being discussed at the U.N. climate conference. More disturbing is that our own Environmental Protection Agency acknowledges that it "relies most heavily" on the U.N. Climate Change Reports. Of course, this should affect the current discussion of cap and trade, since the EPA conclusions seem to be based on faulty evidence derived from the CRU.
Many of the emails were written by global warming researcher Phil Jones, CRU's director. He also refers to American colleagues Michael Mann, professor of meteorology at Pennsylvania State University; Gavin Schmidt, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York; and Kevin Trenberth, U.S. National center for Atmospheric Research. David Jones from the Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne, Australia is also mentioned in the hacked climate change emails.

Global warming is a fraud! Just another scheme to panic people into letting fascist government to gain more control over our lives!

It will be interesting to see where this goes from here. I have seen some scientific articles which do explain the cycles of warming and cooling; hopefully we will see more.
So global warming goes from conspiracy theory to hoax overnight. Even though the scientist are still claiming it is real so they can get their precious funding.
Good report! Thank you. Simply said, the entire thing is a hoax. The Scientist are going to continue to find a crisis because if they admit the truth their funding would end. It all goes back to Money, Power, Money, Politics, Money and Money.
Well done report. I find it equally disturbing that the scientists who question or even prove false the global warming stuff are suppressed. In the 1970s they were worrying about global cooling!
Yet three or more weeks after this incident, the global warming sycophants refuse to even acknowledge this event. I just love how they just pretend it never happened.
