Global Warming - Earth Will Survive but Will We?

Seasonal Behavior and Long-term Survival

f.w.
This year we had a "warm winter" which has intefered with climate, the hibernation of animals, caused rising sea levels and the melting of the polar ice caps. We have also witnessed first hand the severity of storms across the globe within the last decade and the rise in temperatures will continue. It is predicted that the average global temperatures could increase by 1.4 to 5.8C by the year 2100.

A poll conducted last year by the Pew Research Centre found that only 41 percent of Americans believed that the burning of fossil fuels causes global warming. This percentage is not acceptible. The rising temperatures are already wreaking havoc on our climate in some very eerie ways. If the temperture continues to rise prepare yourself for even worse storms, savage wildfires, disappearing lakes and even unknown allergies.

At a meeting in Paris this week, officials from over 113 nations have agreed that the "highly anticipated international report" will state that global warming is "very likely" caused by human activity. The panel of international Scientists agreed that global warming will continue for centuries no matter how much people control pollution. This bleak report blamed humans for devastating droughts, killer heatwaves and stronger storms.

Human altering the balance of nature and this will cause extra damage to our earth in "unseen ways". Kathrina Edwards, a geo-microbiologist at the University of California has said that; "humans are having a strong effect on global geochemical cycles". Tiny microbes were responsible for sudden climatic changes millions of years ago to a horriffic effect; the onset of the ice age. The micro biology of the globe is currently being effected by global warming.

Scientists predict that 2007 will be the hottest year yet, that El Nino and persistant levels of greenhouse gases omitted will contribute to this fact. The last time El Nino was effected was in 2002 and we all saw the consequences of this. El Nino can lead to typhoons, hurricanes and a rise in the severity of weather conditions globally. The entire global warming debate has led to a top UN Chief calling on Secretary-General, Ban Ki moon, to call for an urgent summit and to place global warming on top of all nation's agendas.

As the seas rise, the polar caps melt, micro biology is being disturbed and our earth is getting hotter and more violent weather patterns what is the outcome for the human population? If the microbiotic level of disturbance caused an ice age do you think that humans in the form that we are today can survive? Will we have to adapt in order to survive? The earth will continue to survive but will we, the human race also survive?

  • when micro biology was last disturbed in caused the ice age
  • scientists predict that 2007 will be the hottest one on record
There is a general consensus that humans are a part of the problem...

The future of our planet and humans
    history is in our hands
    It is time to change

Health, and not money should fuel the change towards our existence. Greed is getting in the way to cutting down on oil and other harmful chemicals to our planet. Its time to change and we the next generation(s) have to tackle it.
