The other day when my husband and I were at the grocery store he had picked up a jar of Glory Foods Seasoned Cooking Base. To me it was just another bouillon and I knew I already had a jar of chicken and beef bouillon at home, not to mention several cans of broth. I gave him the usual don't be ridiculous and put it back look and advised we already had plenty. A few days later he was at the store and apparently couldn't resist bringing home of jar of their chicken flavor base even though we were stocked up on similar items. I am so glad he didn't listen to me (but only this time) because this makes the best and I do mean the best tasting chicken broth I've ever had.
I was very skeptical about this product, especially after I opened the jar and took a look inside. I had expected to see a powder, not this coagulation of hard looking goo in a jar. I soon put my foot in my mouth once I tasted the simple broth made with just a little of this cooking base and some water. Though my husband likes the Glory Foods canned greens, I have never been able to stomach canned greens of any kind, so I guess I was missing out on the wonderful flavor that only Glory Foods can accomplish. This simple cup of broth was the best I have ever tasted and I certainly wasn't expecting the spicy kick it had. I almost finished the whole cup when my husband had only offered a sip. Once you make some broth with their Seasoned Cooking Base you will see why it is different and then you will taste it. You can actually taste the bits of carrot, garlic, onion, celery and other spices and the flavor will make you want to add it to everything you make from now on.
Glory Foods Seasoned Cooking Base comes in three flavors... chicken, beef and vegetable. Use the beef to make an incredible onion soup broth or mix the chicken with some heavy cream for a nice pasta sauce or use any of these flavors to make a nice dip by just mixing it with sour cream and chilling for an hour. Each jar is worth the roughly $4 price and keep in mind that it provides forty-five cups to enhance all your favorite recipes. You can easily replace you regular bouillon, broth or water base with a Glory Foods Seasoned Cooking Base. You can also stretch this base as the flavors are quite strong and you may prefer it a little milder by adding additional water.
Glory Foods also makes a cooking glaze in turkey, ham and sweet honey which is perfect for mixing with vegetables for a delicious change of flavor. Just cook up your favorite such as carrots or sweet potatoes and then toss with a little glaze. You may want to try out the ham flavored glaze next time you cook up some green beans.
Now I just have to figure out what to do with all that boring bouillon I have left over because there is no way I'll ever cook without Glory Foods again.
