Gluten Free White Bread Recipe

Tastes and Feels Just like White Bread

Linda Roeder
Gluten free bread that you buy from the store is hard and stale. Most of the recipes for gluten free bread give you something that's grainy and tasteless. Here's a gluten free white bread recipe that will remind you of real white bread in both taste and texture.

Stir and Proof

1 1/3 C Very warm milk
2 Tbsp sugar
Packet of yeast
* Stir well and proof for 10 minutes or until foamy on top.

Add to

1C White rice flour
1C Tapioca flour
1C Potato Starch

Mix in

1 Egg
2Tbsp Oil
1tsp Vinegar
1tsp Salt
1Tbsp Xantham Gum

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients together using dough beaters for about 5 minutes to get lots of air into the mixture. This is very important.

2. Pour into buttered bread pan.

3. Let rise for 30 - 40 minutes or until double in size.

4. Brush top with melted butter, also very important.

5. Bake in preheated oven at 350F for 60 minutes.

6. Cool bread in pan.

* If making muffins, bake at 400F for 15 minutes.
