Gluten-Free Resolution for the New Year

Melanie D. Dameron
Start the New Year on a positive healthy note and with a real upbeat perspective. Instead of making resolutions of all the things you must give up or avoid, let's focus and hone in on great things that are allowed. So, instead of resolving to loose weight by any means necessary; trying every diet known to mankind that you know will last only a day or sometimes only and hour; exercising to the point of pain and exhaustion, or denying yourself everything good for a health conditions, try a different approach to better health. This year show generosity to yourself and your body by nourishing it better. Pamper yourself by giving your body only the best. Zone in on foods you can really eat and enjoy for your health.

If you suffer from digestive disorders and their symptoms, a gluten-free diet regime is the way to go. Just remember that gluten and wheat flour are things of the past and need to remain there. Think about this lifestyle change as your mission. Seek support groups and blogs on the internet to help you keep your resolve one day, week, month and year at a time. Two great resources are the book, The Healing Foods, The Ultimate Authority on the Curative Power of Nutrition by Patricia Hausman and Judith Benn Hurley, and the website http://www.glutenfreedietitian.com.

Recommended Foods to Use Generously

The following foods are an exclusive list for your body to receive great treatment. The recommended foods are milk, yogurt, fresh meats, poultry, bacon, fish (fresh or canned), shellfish and organ meats, gravy made with cornstarch or rice flour, cheese, eggs, rice potatoes, nuts, all fruits and juices. You may also enjoy bread and flour made from wheat starch, arrowroot, cornmeal, soybean, rice or potato flour, breakfast cereals made from rice and corn only, cream, butter, margarine, peanut butter, cooking fats and oils. You may also add sugars, jam, jelly, marmalade, honey, syrup, homemade candy, cakes and cookies made with gluten-free flour, coffee, tea, carbonated beverages and even specifically approved ice creams. These are just a few of the wonderful foods you are able to enjoy in the coming years.

Remember to always check ingredients. Your new resolve is to eat in a manner that is delicious and healing for your body. As a great side effect, you will reduce or possibly eliminate your digestive conditions and more than likely loose those extra pounds in the process. Maintain your Gluten-Free Resolution for great health and longevity.
