The Cadillac CTS that was on the Auto Expo carried the specification of 3.6-litre direct-injection V-6 VVT engine with an output of 311 bhp of power. Partially handcrafted, this car is expected to fall in the price range of Rs 50-60 lakh. Cadillac model will be positioned against Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW.
By mid 2009, GM India will be also launching Chevrolet Cruse from the sedan segment which will compete with Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Sonata Transform in the premium car segment. The company will also introduce new version of Spark in different name for the premium hatchback class.
GM India is expanding its product line which also includes the the LPG and CNG versions. The latest launch from the GM's stable was the Automatic version of Captiva with all wheel drive system at priced at Rs 20.3 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
