GM India Launches Campaign to Allay Fears

Soon after the auto giant General Motors filed for bankruptcy protection in United States, its Indian subsidiary has started fire fighting exercises. General Motors India is trying to assure its customers in the country that all is well with the company here.

The company has posted its key representatives across 35 cities to deal with any fear or apprehension that customers may have on future of GM's operations here in India.

In order to allay concern about spare parts, investments, and service networks in India, the company is launching a new marketing campaign called "There for you, There for India".

Talking to media persons about it, the Vice-President(marketing) for GM India, Mr. Ankush Arora said "we are not cutting back on investment or stopping production of any model." The car manufacturers has scheduled new launches in the country this year- luxury saloon Chevrolet Cruze, a mini car and LPG variant of Spark.

The company will soon launch a print campaign to assure consumers about uninterrupted supply of spare parts, new car launches, expansion of service network and the investments. The company has already stocking up spare parts with dealers and has dedicated a complete stockyard of spare parts at its Talegaon facility. Currently, GM India imports spare parts from Thailand, Korea, Japan and Europe. The company functions as an autonomous body even as it is a subsidiary of General Motors U.S. said senior officials.

General Motors India retails only Chevrolet brand of cars in India and sell, Spark, Aveo sedan, Aveo UV-A hatchback, Tavera, Optra and Captiva in India.
