Go Back in Time with Sharpie's New "80's Glam" Marker Collection

Miss Fortune
Being a long time marker junkie I knew that I had to get the new Sharpie markers in the 80's Glam series. I was hoping that they would sell them individually at their marker carousel at Staples but so far they have not been marketed as single items. The 80's Glam Fine Point Collection includes the following colors: "Banana Clip Yellow", "Jellie Pink", "Argyle Green", "Valley Girl Violet" and "Banana Clip Yellow". The five marker set is available in fine and ultra fine tips but if you try these and like them you can invest in a larger 24 pack but that is only made in the fine tip.

Since these are relatively new and not something that is going to be a regular item for Sharpie you may have trouble finding it in retail stores. It is sold through the Sharpie website with a price of $6.99 for the five pack. I bought these at a local office supply store for five dollars so each marker cost a dollar so it was a good deal. The colors are amazing but the names are what will make you smile. When was the last time you saw a banana clip (you know, those old school huge hair clips) or broke out the leg warmers and layered them. Ahh, memories!

These write the same as all other Sharpie permanent markers but you are going to want to be careful on thinner sheets of paper and notebooks as the ink can bleed through to the opposite page. The ink is non-toxic so it is something that is safe for kids to use but you have to remember that this is permanent ink so if they get it on their clothing or skin you are going to have a tough time removing it. I like the throwback colors and the retro packaging design of it; if you are looking to add some cool colors to your marker assortment this is more than worth hunting down.
