Go! Diego Go! Training Pants Review

Robin Neorr
If your son is ready to potty train deciding on a trainer is not an easy task. There are a lot of different options. The Go! Diego Go! Trainer is a solid choice for teaching your son how to use the potty like a big boy.

Boys gravitate to the character of Diego, and having him on an easy up training pant is a great way to get your son excited to go to the bathroom. But are they worth the money?

Pros:

Go Diego Go training pants feature a largely white trainer with Diego and friends on the front. The trainer has several blue backpacks on the front that disappear when your child wets their pants. This lets you know that their trainer needs changed. No more feeling your child's pants to see if they are wet.

The trainer offers a feel and learn liner. It stays wet to the touch so that your child knows when he has relieved himself. It will be slightly uncomfortable for most children so your son will want to have a fresh trainer on. Eventually he will dislike the feeling so much that he will alert you to when he needs to go.

Your child can put the trainers on without your assistance. They have super stretchy sides that allow you to pull them on and off without a parent. When your child has an accident you can easily remove the pants by undoing the Velcro like sides. This feature gives your child the confidence that they are becoming a big boy and they do not need to wear diapers.

Go Diego Go Trainers are really absorbent. You do not have to worry that your son will leak through his pants, even at night.

Cons:

Go! Diego Go! Trainers seem to run a little small so buy one size up. My two year old weighs thirty pounds and the size four trainers are used for girls 18-34 pounds. I buy size fives which are made for girls 32-40 pounds. Going one size up will mean the cost per diaper goes up (from .32 for a pack of size fours to .37 for a pack of size fives), but it will guarantee that you don't waste diapers if your child breaks them when they pulls them up.

If you think simply putting these pants on your child will get them to want to use the potty you will be disappointed. They do become gel like and feel wet when your child pees, but that does not seem to bother all children.

Where To Buy:

Go! Diego Go! Trainers are easy to find at local retailers such as target or Wal-Mart. They can also be purchased online at sites such as Alice.com, Drugstore.com, or Diapers.com.
