When you set goals, you are not only sending your intentions out into the energy fields, you are subconsciously looking at everything that happens in a day as an opportunity to achieve them. If you start your day without a plan or nothing to look forward to, you can still have fun and enjoyment from the spontaneity of not knowing what you're going to do next, but you may also be missing very important opportunities that when taken advantage of, will lead to an increase in your personal development and happiness.
Start small when setting your goals. If you're goal is be a millionaire, you're obviously not going to achieve the feat overnight. Keep the goals rather small, but make them so they will push you everyday. Balance is the key to goal setting, as it is with most things in life.
Don't overwhelm yourself when setting your goals. Make sure to keep the big picture in mind, the reason we're here. Keep your goals in perspective. Is it the end of the world if you don't achieve your goal of losing 10lbs in a month? Of course not, but even if you don't attain that specific goal, it is important to keep pushing forward and achieve a new goal or a modified version of an old one. Procrastination is not good for you, but neither is overwhelming stress.
There isn't really a whole lot of difference in God given talent between a happy successful person and an unhappy person who feels they're a failure. The main difference lies within the motivation and the consistent drive to achieve dreams. If you want to achieve something that others haven't, you have to do things that other haven't. If you're not happy where you are in life, you need to change what you're doing and find a different way.
Maintain a journal with your goals and jot down ideas whenever possible. By writing your dreams on paper, you will consciously and subconsciously take advantage of opportunities that come your way throughout the day. Don't feel that you've already missed the bus to achieve your goals. There will be certain goals that you may not be able to reach, but there's will always be a variation of that goal which you will be able to reach. As you have heard forever, don't ever give up. You are never too old to achieve your dreams. With persistence, dedication, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be open to new ideas, you will realize your dream. Trust me, I guarantee it.
