Go Green - Rotary Faucet Allows You to Set Time Limit to Running Water

Finding new ways to save on our resources is becoming something that more consumers are disovering as important to maintaining a healthy and clean earth. This has resulted in several green energy programs being launched and companies working towards better way to conserve energy. You should look no further than your local energy company to see how they are taking steps to conserve energy. One area in which we always waste our resources is water. Hence why I was excited to see a cool new invention known as the Rotary Faucet at a recent technology trade show.

At first glimpse the Rotary Faucet looks awfully strange. It appears that someone thought it would be interesting to combine a rotary telephone and your everyday sink faucet. To be honest, it is kind of an ugly looking product that delivers great results. The main purpose of the Rotary Faucet is to assist you in conserving water. This is done by the device controlling the amount of water that you let come out through basic time conservation.

For example, you would turn on the water faucet just like you normally would to do dishes. A lot of times when we are doing dishes we have this horrible habit of leaving the water running the entire time we use it. All we have to do with this device is turn the rotary to the amount of seconds that we want to keep the water running. If you want one minute you simple go to one. If you want ten minutes all you have to do is select one and then zero (10).

I had some issues with this design though. It is kind of a big let down to see that the designer decided to use a rotary phone concept to decide how many seconds that you want the water to be on for. I figure that it would have been much easier to have either digital selection or a simple button that you press. Perhaps that this will be included in future models when it should have been included with this original creation.

Overall I feel that the Rotary Faucet is a great product for those who wish to conserve water. I can tell you that from experience that I use far too much water and could use a product like this. However, I am going to wait to see if a better version is created over the next year. The designers plan to sell the product within the next couple of months. I will attempt to follow this new product and keep you posted when a launch date is announced.
