As with most riding areas or parks, there are rules that have to be in place and followed to protect the park, riders and spectators. GoTroMud is no different and has its own rules that mud riders must be aware of because if they break these rules they will be asked to leave the premises. These rules include: operating vehicles safely, respect the people in your vicinity, no drinking and driving, no glass containers, no littering, no riding in the bed of any truck in a mud pit, no children 10 or under allowed on atvs in the mud pits and no more than one person on an atv in the mud pit. There is also no pets allowed on the property and more than anything riders are asked to use common sense, especially when they are either entering the mud pits or when they are exiting them.
GoTroMud is open from 9 o'clock in the morning until 4 o'clock in the afternoon Saturday and Sunday. There is also supposed to be a Kiddie Bog and a Mud-A-Cross track according to the parks website. This may be just the place for those mud riders in the Acadiana area looking for trying out a mud pit.
To get to GoTroMud from Crowley, Louisiana, from Interstate 10, exit I-10 at the Louisiana Highway 13 exit then travel north on LA 13 for about 11 and a half miles to US 370. Travel on US 370 for about 2 miles to Hunley Road where you take a left and stay on Hunley Road, which will turn to gravel. After Hunley Road turns to gravel, remain on it for half a mile more then turn right on DeGregory Road where you will find signs leading you to the park and the mud pits that are waiting.
If you are traveling from Rayne on Interstate 10 to GoTroMud, remain on I-10 to the US 35 exit and travel north on US 35 to the junction of LA98/LA367. At the junction of LA98/LA367, take a left and travel for about 12 miles to LA370 where you will take a left. On LA370 travel for another mile then turn right onto DeGregory Road. Once again, look for the signs that will lead you to the park and the mud pits.
If you get lost you can call 337-256-0498 or 337-256-1287. You can also call these numbers for more information on this riding area, such as what the weather is doing and if they are open. You can also go to www.gotromud.com.
