Go Wild with a Jungle Themed Baby Shower

Make that next baby shower a colorful one. How about a baby shower with a jungle theme? The possibilities are endless with that theme. You can do everything from baby jungle animals to George of the Jungle. You might even want to stick to a particular animal. Jungle cats or cartoon monkeys, for example. Parrots and jungle vegetation are very common themes in most stores.

My favorite place to shop for party favors is the Dollar Tree store. They have everything from invitations to party favors. If they don't have jungle themed item you can always customize it. If you can't find invitations with anything with a jungle type of decoration just go to the children's or stationary section and look for some baby jungle or big jungle animal stickers. Just add those stickers to any plain but colorful purchased invitation and you are on your way to setting the mood for the baby shower.

Party decorations such as banners and flags can all be found at the Dollar Tree. I often see parrots and palm trees adorning many party decorations. If you can't find any zebras or monkeys on decorations then just think of the jungle vines and greenery. Even plain colored streamers can add the right touch as long as the colors chosen enhance the jungle theme.

What will add the finishing touch to any jungle baby shower will be the baby shower refreshments. A "jungle punch" made with Hawaiian punch and 7-up will help with those thirsty party goers. Cupcakes or a sheet cake can either be made or purchased. The cupcakes can be purchased already elaborately decorated or with just a touch of customizing to make them part of the jungle theme. Here is an example of what you might do to make "jungle cupcakes". You can make each cupcake a jungle floor by using chocolate cake mix and then decorating the cupcake with green and brown icings. Adding food coloring to white icing can make all the difference. The brown icing, either chocolate or white icing that is dyed with food coloring, is used to make the vines and trunks. The green icing is then used to make leaves on the vines.

You will want to give out party favors to all the guests and what a better idea than a green plant "jungle plant". If you know how to propagate your own house plants then you have ready made party favors growing right in your own home. For the price of a clay pot and some potting mix you can make up your own little plants. You will need to plan ahead for that, at least a month or two in advance of the party for your plants to grow.

Pick out a special prize like a big stuffed monkey or other memorable gift as the main prize for the guest that wins your "baby shower game". I once went to a baby shower that had a game that lasted the entire party. A prize was given to the party guest that did not cross their legs during the duration of the party.

Make your next baby shower something special and host one that has a jungle theme.
