Go Zorbing in the Hocking Hills!

Have you ever wondered what your pet hamster felt like while spinning around inside his plastic ball when you were a child? Now you have a chance to discover what spinning head over heels (and hills) feels like for yourself. The OGO ball has arrived at Hocking Peaks Outdoor Adventure Park and is creating a whirlwind of excitement. The super-sized beach ball contraptions were developed in New Zealand and have finally made their way to the United States. Only two U.S. locations currently exist for "zorbing" which is the act of spinning inside an OGO. The outdoor adventure park is located less than three miles from the Hocking Hills State Park.

The very expensive pieces of inflatable plastic tumble 600 feet down a hillside at the Hocking Peaks Outdoor Adventure Park, located less than five miles from Old Man's Cave. Months of preparation went into designing the course, which is still in the process of completing a few cosmetic finishing touches. The park features four OGO balls, with a planned H2O ball in the near future. After climbing into the non-water balls, as gracefully as you can muster, safety straps hold you into place before being shoved over the edge. Riders can brave the course alone, or "buddy up" and share their experience with another. Even the boldest or riders will illicit a squeal or two as the ball picks up speed and the pull of gravity increases.

It is not advisable to eat a hearty lunch or imbibe any alcoholic beverages before diving inside the OGO. Once you receive a push by Hocking Peaks Outdoor Adventure Park guides, you begin bouncing over the hill. Vomit splashing around inside the orb would not enhance the experience. In addition to the new OGO attraction, the park also features a zip-line course offering 17 zip-lines with intermingled aerial obstacles, an 18 hole championship level disc golf course, bicycle rentals, an ATV obstacle course, cabin rentals and an ever growing list of both muscle and fuel powered attractions.

During the months of September and October the Wicked Forest and haunted corn maze come alive with frights and screams at dusk. The haunted trail is physically daunting enough during daylight hours and should prove an eerie experience by moonlight. Fake blood, gore and unexpected encounters fill the dimly light and unguided trail on Friday and Saturday nights. The corn field is more than a twisting path of maize and features surprises around every corner. As you wind along the Wicked Forest Trail you will be forced to find your way through a haunted "mine shaft" filled with creepy passages and the occasional deranged ghoul. Side activities and food are also a part of the haunting good time at Hocking Peaks during the fall months. A water-slide for children operates during warm weather months.
