Goal Setting: The Difference Between Small and Large Goals

Frank Girard
Everyone in life has goals or aspirations that they want to achieve. Some people set their goals higher than other people do in life. Goal setting is extremely important because it gives you something to work for everyday of your life. It is good to have goals because it ensures that your life is progressing in the direction that you want it to progress in. Many people set goals, but only very small goals that they are sure they can attain.

Setting small goals has advantages, but also has a number of disadvantages.

There are two types of people in this world. There is the type of person that sets small goals that they know they can achieve and there is also the type of person that sets goals that are thought to be impossible by others. Setting smalls goals will ensure that you never fail, but it will also ensure that you are never a large success. People that set large goals have more of a chance to fail, but also have more of a chance to succeed.

You only live once so there is no reason as to why you should set small goals. Setting large goals gives you something greater then yourself to work for. If you only live once you should do everything you want or at least try to. If you want to be a pro athlete then why not go for it? It is better to try and achieve your dreams and fail then to not have tried at all. Although, when setting a large goal there are several things that you must keep in mind.

Keep your goal insight and work towards that goal every moment of your life. Always stay positive and believe that you can achieve anything. By following these two basic principles you will surely reach your goals.
