God Blesses America with Its Military

It never ceases to amaze me that our military is the finest in the world. Stop and think about that. The finest in the WORLD. If any country in the world is under fire and in trouble, America's military rises to the occasion with skill, with honor and with precision. America has been blessed with these men and women of the military and we are blessed when they come home and enter back into civilian life. We owe them much.

Many countries force people into military. And even though we have had drafts, the constant voluntary enlistment of men and women into the American military services is astounding. Fighting 2 wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, America has not needed to implement a draft. Why? Because warriors enlist for duty on their own. They want to join. They want to protect and defend. God has blessed America with these fine warriors. God has protected America and blessed it with its own people willingly standing up for it.

I'm of the age to remember my friends coming back from Viet Nam. Our soldiers were heroes and many of our fellow Americans proved to be zeros. No soldier should have to sneak back into America for fear of retribution from people who do not believe in the war being fought. It was a time that disgraced our nation. These actions were not judged kindly as time went on and wrath now falls on most people who denigrate a soldier and his job.

America's military serves with heart and compassion to the point of putting themselves in grave danger. How many countries have such a military? Many will disagree with me, but I believe soldiers like ours can only exist because God has made it so. God uses our military to keep us a free land. Thanks must be given to God for blessing us so. Thanks to the soldiers who carry out mission after mission must be followed by true caring from their fellow Americans. Every effort must be taken to ensure that these fighting men and women have all the help that they need. It's not good enough to cheer them until they come home and then simply forget and abandon them.

I have never served in the military. I cannot begin to know the hardships soldiers and their families face. But I am a Christian. I am an American. I can give thanks to God for our military and I can pray for them. I can look in my community for warriors that have come home and offer my thanks and a visit. I can check in on families that have mothers and fathers overseas and offer help. I can write to my congressmen and governor and insist on the best care and support for our military. America has a responsibility to God and this country's military.

If we stopped giving thanks to God for our magnificent military and we fail to take the responsibility of taking good care of our soldiers and their families, we do not deserve God's blessings. It's no accident that America has the finest military in the world. God has made it so.

Good article - I can't say I agree with the whole God side of making the Military what it is since hubby was a soldier for 41 years it seems to me it is dedication to our country and a whole lot of hard work, fear, bravery, blood and guts.

It still amazes me the number of people who hate the military. Did you know Target refuses any kind of military linked sponsorship. They wouldn't let the Veterans sit outside their store to collect money for disable vets for example. Shameful. I don't shop there anymore.
