God Had a Better Plan

God Had a Better Plan

When I was awoken by the phone,
I had no idea that in a few hours my brother would be gone.
When the doctor said he wouldn't survive
I only wished that I could give him my life.
How scared he must have been,
To know that his life would soon end.

To know that his daughter would grow up with out a dad
And never remember the one she had.
But I will let him live through me
So that she will see,
What a great dad he had planned to be.

Tears have fallen and people have called with their regards,
But that will never heal the pain in my heart.
He was my best friend,
Always there at my defense.
Now matter how far he had to go, or what he had to do,
He always said, "Little Sis, I here for you".

I wish he was here now to tell me how to handle this
Or to see him give his baby girl a kiss.
Such a wonderful man.
I don't understand.
I guess God had a better plan!

So nice that you are writing about God! AC usually doesn't like articles about Christianity. Sad! Cute work!
