God Hates Liars. Westboro Baptist Church Lying About Picket Schedules
Shirley Phelps-Roper & Westboro Baptist Church Not Showing Up at Promised Pickets
But when it comes to lying, Fred Phelps, Shirley Phelps-Roper and fellow members of the God Hates Everyone campaign are as expert as anyone.
A few months ago I became suspicious about the number of funerals, churches, and schools that Westboro Baptist Church claimed they were planning to picket. The number of members in their group is very small (less than one hundred), and somebody has to stay at home to take care of the kids and work at the law firm to make money so that the others can go out and picket.
I attended the Westboro Baptist picket at the University at Albany this past Spring. One way the church makes effective use of their small group is to send only a few people to each picket. They have learned that a few people holding up provocative signs can do the job of many.
Nevertheless, I still doubted that they could picket as many places as they say they are going to. It took me awhile to find the proof that they often lie about who and what they are going to picket, but I finally found it.
Westboro Baptist never showed up to picket funerals in Binghamton as they said they would
On April 3 a man walked into the American Civic Association Center in Binghamton, opened fire and killed fourteen people. The Westboro Baptist Church wasted no time in issuing a press release the same day, stating they were going to picket the funerals and the memorial services of the victims. BUT THEY NEVER DID, and they can't weasel out of this one, although they have tried.
When they never showed up, I emailed the Westboro Baptist Church to ask why. Here is my e-mail.

Subject: Binghamton Shootings
You said in a press release that you were going to picket the funerals
and memorial services of the victims of the shootings in Binghamton,
New York. You have not done so. All of the funerals and memorial
services have already taken place. Why didn't you picket?"
Here is their response.
"Sorry you missed us. Where were you? Also, see www.godhatesfags.com,
www.signmovies.com and www.beastobama.com. Thanks."
Notice they didn't say they were there, but they try to imply they went to Binghamton when they didn't.
Here is part of my response to their prevaricating e-mail.
"You did not answer my question. Your press release claiming that you would picket in Binghamton leaves you open to the charge of lying, a charge you have made against numerous other people and organizations.
I have, by the way, explored all of your websites in detail, and I have read numerous articles and watched all of the documentaries on your family and church including Steve Drain's.
I do not countenance lying, which I believe you have done by saying you would picket the funerals in Binghamton and then not doing so."
Of course, they did not answer this e-mail. Furthermore, they apparently deleted the press release about picketing in Binghamton, New York from their website. A search of their site no longer turns it up.
But I still have it because I saved it onto my computer. The press release states clearly that "WBC will Picket the Funerals & Memorials." Westboro Baptist Church didn't say they might picket, but they "will" picket.
Other people have suspicions about Westboro Baptist lying about pickets
I'm not the only one who suspects that Westboro Baptist Church has been lying about the pickets they say they are going to hold. In a letter to Shirley Phelps-Roper which appeared on her blog on Oct. 3, 2007, Mike Sangiacomo of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, asked Shirley, "How often do you show up at places you say you will be? I've looked for you at several in Ohio and you were not there and followed-up another half-dozen where you said you would be and you were not. I'd appreciate a list of actual appearances in the last few months, as opposed to scheduled ones. Thanks."
Shirley Phelps-Roper's response was anything but honest, not to mention rude, referring to Mr. Sangiacomo as Angry Michael, even though there is no anger in his letter. It was obfuscation at its best, better than most politicians. She claimed that because Mr. Sangiacomo was thinking about Westboro Baptist Church coming to Ohio, they were actually there. In other words, their presence in Mr. Sangiacomo's thoughts fulfilled Westboro Baptist Church's promise to go to Ohio, even though they did not go when they said they would. If that isn't lying, I don't know what is.
The Westboro Baptist Church also said that it would picket the funeral of actor, David Carradine, but there is no evidence that they showed up. If you google "David Carradine Funeral Westboro Baptist Church," you don't get any news stories about the church picketing the funeral as they said they would, whereas if you google "George Hiller Funeral Westboro Baptist Church," you get lots of news articles saying that Westboro Baptist Church was there.
In response to an Associated Content article about David Carradine's funeral, someone from the Westboro Baptist Church responded on WBC's website by saying, "I do not appreciate the implication that we WERE NOT out in the gloomy crowd - did you know that the Kung Fu freak split hell wide open?" Notice again, that the person does not state we were there; instead he or she states I don't appreciate the implication that we were not there. More obfuscation and lying.
Westboro Baptist Church also lied about Michael Jackson
In a recent blog post, Westboro Baptist Church had the following to say in response to a question about Michael Jackson.
"This event took all eyes off of Iran and Iraq, so that things there could quietly settle down into chaos. YAY!! As fat-assed america slobbered over their simple slut Farrah and their filthy pedophile fag Michael and the old bastard side-kick to Carson, Ed, Iran was shutting down that rebellion and preparing, pursuant to the Hand of God and HIS PURPOSE to deal with Doomed america."
I wander how they know that Michael Jackson is a "pedophile fag." Even a jury, with more knowledge than the Phelps family or Westboro Baptist Church, found Michael Jackson innocent of sexual abuse charges. While people may or may not accept the jury's decision, to say Michael Jackson is a molester is not true unless you have first hand knowledge of it.
God hates liars
Apparently, Fred Phelps, Shirley Phelps Roper and their church do not believe the Ten Commandments which state that "thou shalt not bear false witness," which they have done in the above quote. The Bible that Shirley Phelps-Roper interprets literally and claims to obey also says that one of the six things that the Lord hates is "a lying tongue." Proverbs 6:16 (KJV)
I find that interesting because Fred Phelps and Shirley Phelps-Roper love to claim that God hates America, God hates Jews, God hates fags, God hates Canada, etc. ad nauseum, yet it is clear from this Biblical passage that God hates liars.
The Bible that Fred and Shirley claim to believe in and obey also says, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death." Revelation 21:8 (KJV) Emphasis added.
So, Fred Phelps, Shirley Phelps-Roper and members of the Westboro Baptist Church, according to your own lights, you are going to hell because you are liars, and God hates liars.
The question is whether or not it is to late for you to repent. You are getting old and your hearts are getting harder by the day.
Sop your lying before the God that hates liars judges you!

Post a CommentI have to say that just because this organization calls itself a baptist church doesn't make it so. People of faith believe in the Bible and the Bible teaches compassion for one another. It does not say you have to condone the actions of anyone only that you have to love them not their actions. A true Christian wether they call themselves Presbyterian, Catholic, Pentecostal or Baptist knows this.(sorry there are too many to name) Dont be fooled there are many who are pretenders and give everyone else a bad name. Also remember we are all human and all of us make mistakes which makes none of us better than the other in God's eyes
The only thing I have to say to these hate-mongers is...Patriot Guard.
Thank God Im a Catholic and have been taught to love my fellow man.The last person to show this kind of hatred your so called baptist church expresses, was Hitler.Am sure he's paying for his hatred,so you should consentrate on his evil. This is where your headed.
MAY YOU ROT IN HELL
Note that Fred Phelps was disbarred from the practice of law by the Kansas Supreme Court:
State v. Phelps, 598 P.2d 180 (Kan. 1979) and In re Phelps, 459 P.2d 172 (Kan. 1969). Said the Court:
Phelps has, by his conduct, shown that he does not have the proper concept of the obligations devolving upon an attorney requiring him to deal fairly and honorably with his clients, and enjoining him to demean himself in such manner as not to bring embarrassment to nor discredit upon his profession.
The westboro babtist is not a "church", it is a hate group. They are in it for the money and the press. Most of the members of this "church" are attorneys, so they get away with this. Any one can say they are a "church", that is not going to make you a Church! We in this country let a lot pass for "church". This is not about freedom, it is about being human. The hate is a way to make money, by bringing a Lawsuit against people THEY have provoked. They are running a “church†scam. But, add a bit of crazy on the side just for show.
