God on Homosexuality: What Exactly Does the Bible Say?

MD Sparks
In a world ridden with Political Correctness, homosexuality is certainly a hot topic in the mainstream media. Thirty years ago, you would hardly see any mention about homosexuality in the news, but now it is all about Gay Marriage, Gay Rights, and Gay Parenting, and we, the all loving and accepting people, are suppose to support it. Not many people will stand up to say that homosexuality is wrong. Those that do are often ridiculed as being judgmental or insensitive, but there is one person whose voice can be herd on this matter, but he is often ignored. That being is God.

In the Old Testament, homosexuality is despised. Leviticus 18:22 says: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." Some try to brush this passage off saying that it is not one of the Ten Commandments and the passages of Leviticus 18 were not real sins. These passages talk about the detestable act of homosexuality in the same breath as a man lying with his sister, or his mother, or with animals. How do we feel about people who practice these acts? Do we not consider them sin? Later in that same chapter of Leviticus, it says that: "everyone who does any of these detestable things: such persons must be cut off from their people." (Leviticus 18:29)

In the New Testament, Paul writes on sexual immorality by saying: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor the drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) Paul is putting those who practice homosexuality in the same category as thieves and prostitutes. Later in 1 Timothy, Paul puts those who practice homosexuality in the same breath with murders, slave traders, and "all who are contrary to the sound doctrine" (1 Timothy 1:9-10) How do we view the people who practice these other acts? They are looked down upon and shunned. What is it about homosexuality that sets it apart to the point where it is pretty much accepted?

The truth is that the world is trying to force us to accept the unacceptable. The Bible says in black and white that homosexual acts are sin. This is not one of those gray areas left to creative interpretation. Therefore, should Christians be judgmental on those who practice homosexuality? The answer is no. It is not for us to judge We can only stand up for the truth to educate the world on what the Bible says.

Marriage was instituted as a religious sacrament and therefore should fall under the sphere of influence of churches. Simple answer is the "State" needs to get out of the business of performing the "Churches" ceremonies. The state erred when it crossed that line. Read "Persecuting a Persons Nature" here on AC.

Mein Kampf is not the divinely inspired word of God...and is totally irrelevant to this matter. It is not a question of "religion". God is speaking to us, His creation, through the holy scriptures...which history has now documented to show prophecy after prophecy fullfilled over hundreds and thousands of years. Where do you think you came from?

    Totally agree

Totally disagree with you on this one. Hitler said alot of things in Mein Kampf, are we supposed to live by his words? The one thing i've realized is that religion is something that cannot be argued about. You people believe what you believe and that's it. I do respect you for stating your honest opinion though, even though it is wrong.
