God, Are You Listening?

Janis I. Monroe
Since I was young
I have heard stories of Jesus, Your only son
And of the great deeds You and He have done
Waters were parted, the blind made to see
The lame could walk and some were saved from leprosy

Many miracles You have performed
Countless as they are
I always seem to kneel before You and ask for one more
I pray to You with all my heart
A man so dear and caring
I hope we never part

But there are moments I wonder if You are there
As prayers I have said go unanswered
Leaving silence in the air

God, are you listening?
Please say You are there
Let me know You care
Can You hear my prayers?

I know I should never doubt You
That indeed You are in everything
From the day sky so blue
To the sunset in the evening
Daily Your power I see
But then why sometimes is it so hard to believe?

God, are You listening?
Please say You are there
Let me know You care
Can You hear my prayers?

My faith in You is strong
And unyielding as Your love
In Your arms I know is where I belong
Resting for eternity in Your kingdom far above

Thank you. I'm glad you liked the poem. I know many people have felt this and I'm sure people are feeling this way during these uncertain times.

This is beautiful. You really spoke to my heart. I think that there are a lot of people that have felt this way at some time or another. Thanks for sharing. :-)
