God Loves You, Britney Spears

Charisse Van Horn
Pop Star Britney Spears is in desperate need of an Intervention, I just can't figure out why she has no one around her who cares enough to have her committed. Britney Spears is way beyond spiraling out of control, and yet she is still walking around continuing to leave trails of disaster everywhere she goes.

Does anyone see the absolute disgust that is found in a world that offers a person money, wealth, and fame in exchange for their soul? Britney Spears has not only temporarily lost custody of her children, but also on October 10th, she will be arraigned for a hit and run accident. My heart goes out to Britney Spears and her family (if she even has any family that sincerely cares about her well being). Though it may seem that Britney Spears is behaving in ways unimaginable to the common man, Britney Spears is behaving in the exact same manner as any person who is dealing with mental illness and has a drug and alcohol dependency- the only difference is that cameras are not following the common man or women when they hit rock bottom.

My fear is that while the world sits back and mocks, laughs, and humiliates Britney Spears, she is going to overdose or commit suicide. Like Anna Nicole Smith, (who had no "respect" as a star until everyone began searching for her death photos), I believe that Britney Spears is headed down the same path.

I remember seeing a drugged up Anna Nicole discussing her son's death and all I could see was a woman who was truly at death's door. Why didn't those around her say, "Anna, you have to get some help. You need to check into a place where you can clean up, sober up, and deal with this horrendous depression that is devastating your life."

Maybe the trouble is that Hollywood offers so many "posh" rehabs, that no one is really getting any help. I don't know if that is the case or not, but I know one thing. When life takes you to the darkest edge and all you can see is yourself hanging to earth by a thin line, God is the only one who will move on your behalf.

It's time for Britney Spears to give it all to Jesus. There is no one in Hollywood who cares about Britney Spears (except maybe Chris Crocker, but he isn't going to help her pick up the pieces of her broken life) and no human has the ability to restore a broken life.

Britney Spears is hanging by a thin line, and yes, I agree with the sentiments expressed by Chris Crocker that all the media says is, "Gimme more." Look at Anna Nicole Smith, she is dead and buried and the media still cries, "Gimme more, Anna." We exploited your image in life, and now we will exploit your image in death.

This is not the meaning or purpose of life folks. People chase the golden dream of Hollywood, fame, fortune, and success, but all it takes is a look down memory lane to see where you end when it crashes. Yes, Elvis and Marilyn continue on in the media, but does this save the soul?

Anna Nicole Smith dreamed of being Marilyn Monroe and she accomplished that dream, but for what price?

Britney Spears needs an intervention and there isn't anyone in Hollywood who can save her, the only one left is Jesus Christ.

Ok, so you figured out by now that I am unabashedly a Christian. It's true. You see, the same God that saves me each and every day has the same power to reach into Britney Spears' life and touch her heart and give her peace. He has the power to bring sanity to the mind when you didn't even know your mind was that far gone (hindsight is 20/20 you know). Trust me, Britney doesn't see how far out of control she is because she is delusional. The only person who has the power to restore her mind, her sanity, bring her joy, and make her whole is Jesus Christ.

Thank God, all it takes is a prayer, faith, and trust in God for Him to move, however Britney Spears has to make the first step, she has to surrender to God, she has to be willing to say, "Look God, I have nothing left. Help!"

What are you waiting for Britney? Look around you, there is no one left on your side. The only one who loves you despite of yourself is Jesus Christ, the God who made you. That is the irony of life, isn't it? When it all comes down to it, no matter how much fame, devotion, or belief we have in ourselves, no one loves us unconditionally but God.

So yes, Britney, at this point, I believe you need an intervention, a Spiritual Divine intervention first, (and don't feel bad, we all need divine intervention daily) but you also need to be protected from taking your own life. Whether it is by accident (is there really an accident when you abuse your body with drugs and alcohol) or purposeful, there is no way that I am buying that you are not completely broken and devastated. I have been to rock bottom and back, but I didn't do it with an entire world watching me. I can't imagine what that is like, and I am sure that is the reason the madness is encompassing Britney Spears' life. I can see the signs and death is waiting with outstretched arms, but you don't have to accept the embrace. There is another hand reaching out to you, it is the nail-scarred hand of Jesus Christ and He is waiting for you to take it.

I am here to tell you, that God is no respecter of persons- He doesn't care if you are Britney Spears shaving your head or flashing your goods on camera or hiding behind your soccer mom image smoking meth in you bathroom. Whether you are on the streets, in the club, in your home, in your church office, or in the gutter God sees you, He knows your pain, and he loves you in spite of yourself.

God is not a fairy tale, He is not make believe, God created this world and if you catch the news, He is still creating more worlds (just like Revelation says, He created a new heaven and a new earth), as powerful as it is to create a heaven and an earth, God also creates restoration in the lives of broken people.

Britney Spears may be broken for the entire world to see, but God desires to reach in and mend the pieces that we can't see. The pieces of Britney that are deep within her heart that no psychiatrist, media tabloid, or you and I could ever fathom. He is waiting for the chance to do what He does best, restore, create, and mend. He mends the broken hearted and He heals the wounded soul.

err, we go through our stupidity and God has compassion. sorry bout dat. another imperfect writer here.

Why is it that we idolize a person one day and scorn them the next. How many 15-year-olds could handle the fame and attention and gifts this girl had and it not go to their head? How many 30-year-olds could handle it for that matter? She was probably being pumped continuously by people seeking to profit off of her to be more provocative, b/c that's what sells. It's good to hear that people still have compassion for other people in their stupidity - we all go through it. And I believe God does too.

dating this slick talking rapper. Then they put out Soldier and completely debunked those theories, which was genius, and went on to be one of the top singles off of one of their later albums. It was like, whatever, because if you listened to all of their records it was obvious they had more smarts about relationships than what they were letting on but they would never own up to that in the interviews ...

but let's be completely honest, whose family is there for them these days, certainly not Lindsey Lohan's. Anna Nicole was a hustler, straight up, new exactly what she was after and was determined and focused, she has more in common with Traci Lords than anything. Britney took advantage of our issues with adolescent sexuality; I'm not completely sure that you can compare the two. Anna may have been the new Marilyn Monroe, but I doubt that you can say Britney was the new Farrah Fawcet or Olivia Newtown John. You may be connecting dots that aren't really there. Maybe I just don't want to see Britney in that same light, everyone needs God in their life, but the real argument is how the world is using Christianity to sell records in the first place. You mentioned to a respondent about their using ideas about Britney's virginity to sell records, well the exact same thing was tried with Destiny's Child; Beyonce's father is this protective figure that doesn't want his good little girl da

I had never really thought of a connection between Britney and Anna Nicole because I had always thought that Anna was heavy into the drugs from the very beginning, while with Britney I figured it was something new. I remember an interview with Britney done by Diane Sawyer, and of course she was telling us absolutely nothing while holding us by the edge of our seats, as usual, and Britney was insinuating about stuff that wasn't really appropriate to talk about on television at all. She was on top of the world then, confident, suave, and was promoting what was then her new album, the failed "In The Zone". In fact it wasn't long after her racy Esquire photos. But we brought this fascination over Britney and this controversy to her; she was trying her best to deal with it. We always had this sick, convoluted relationship with her, and I think what is going on now is the evidence of her inability to deal with that fame. She could have dealt with it better if her family was there for h

I like how you said, "little Britney". You know I always think that's the way God looks at us in our sin. I believe that He sees us as children, and looks at us the way we look at our children when they aren't following the right path.

He isn't ready to bash us, throw us in jail, and sentence us for our crimes. He sees the little lost child that He loves, and as any Father who loves his children is always waiting for us with outstretched arms.

God does love little Britney. I saw an old interview with Britney and her mother. They mentioned that they prayed together, before a performance, so Britney would not be nervous. And, Britney cried. She'll be back. God won't let her go. Her little boys are adorable.

God still loves you Britney. Partying is fun for a season, but the season will end.

  • Jill Ermer10/7/2007

Wow, powerful stuff. I enjoy any piece written on Britney that wasn't made to bash her. I actually just wrote a similar piece about Britney and made mentions to Anna Nicole Smith as well. I am very fearful about the road that Brit is heading down.
