If you've dealt with large companies, you've probably experienced bad customer support. GoDaddy is a top website to buy domain names, web hosting, and site building. If you ever buy domains, learn a little more about GoDaddy.com before you purchase a domain from them. I've owned websites for years, and I've always used Go Daddy. Somehow, I never seem to go through the process without at least one problem. This past year, I switched to 1&1 Hosting and was amazed how easy they were. How good the customer support was, and how little time it took to set everything up.

Good Deals at Go Daddy

At times, you can find a free domain name which is nice on the pocket books. You will also find great deals on web hosting, and site building. No matter what you need for your website, Go Daddy seems to have a little of everything.

Go Daddy Customer Support

My problems really started when my domain was set to expire. The emails started coming weekly, then daily, until the phone calls started. I had already decided to let the domain on one of my websites run out to switch to another hosting, 1&1 hosting. I knew I didn't want to stay with Go Daddy. The simple solution was just to let it run out and began somewhere else.

As soon as I started getting phone calls from Go Daddy, I knew the process wasn't over, not yet. At first the customer support was nice. They wanted to know why I hadn't renewed my domain with Go Daddy. I told them the reasons and was ready to get off the phone. That is when the conversation turned sour.

I was then told that if I didn't renew my subscription that they would home my domain indefinitely. I was fairly certain this wasn't true, and called them on the issue. They (Go Daddy Customer Support) changed their tune and said they would hold my domain at least 90 days. I kindly told them that were fine as I wasn't paying them any more money. Thankfully, the domain in question wasn't a highly recognized site so it didn't matter if it expired.

I later got an email from Go Daddy stating they keep the domain for 30 days (Not 90 days as the customer support said.)

The Go Daddy Customer Support was pushy, argumentative, and desperate for me to renew, which I didn't. I found they were not concerned about me, the consumer, and more about getting me to renew; needless to the fact that I was not happy with their service.

I am aware that Go Daddy is one of the top companies for domain names, hosting and a slew of other products. That does not mean that their customer service can treat customers in a bad way. Of course, they can, they will just lose customers.

My reason for this review is nothing more than to alert other consumers about their customer support. You may have no problems dealing with them. Then again, you may encounter the same Go Daddy customer support issues as I did. Before you put money down on a domain, make sure the company you use has excellent customer support to go with that domain. You never know when you'll need to call for help!
