God's Love Letters

Once upon a time I wanted to be important. Then I went on a spiritual journey and discovered I already was important. To God. To Jesus. I am precious to the Holy Trinity. And I realized that everyone wants to be important. If not secretly, then with unabashed braveness. I started treating people with more attention. And they liked me so much, they called me J-lo.

I am not sure what to believe about the whole J-lo thing, but I think it was an unlikely coincidence and that I didn't cause J-lo to get the nickname, but rather, God wanted to make me feel more important, so others associated me with the name. But I grew complacent, discontent with instant "fame" I felt like I didn't get the recognition for my own stuff. Know I know it really is unimportant. I am Jaalah, I have been Jaalah, and if people want to make themselves cool by calling me J-lo, then fine. Be that way.

But it has really caused me a lot of trouble. This one guy at work harassed me because of how I look. He kept touching me and saying cruel things. Other men have grabbed at me too. It's not easy being me. Men seem to lose control sometimes. And its scary.

It's not easy being a Christian in New Jersey. There's a lot of sleaziness not worth talking about. But I know the light of God can change people. Faith can bring people to their knees to pray. Out of desperation they will fall down and worship God.

There is something to be said for God and the Holy Trinity. God said Jesus pleased him before he performed even one miracle. He gave encouragement. Jesus said "Not my will but your will be done." He is a servant leader. The Holy Spirit lives in each of us, whispering love letters to make us feel special. Cherished. God sends a rainbow after the storm. He gives us flowers so that we may feed our soul with his beauty. Man seeks beauty because God gives him that desire. It is the ugliness of the world, the sin, the lack of morals that corrupts this beauty.

We live in an ugly world. It is not of God, not that every person who doesn't look their best is ungodly. But the world is full of smut and filth. We need to cleanse ourselves from impure thoughts, from negativity. From this dirty world we live in. I used to watch TV. Only to change the channel when something offended me. But as the shows got more and more offensive, I just gave up and turned off the TV.

But I keep having faith, having peace of God. Having joy for all the wonders of life I see. The unabashed beauty God made in me and this world and I just want to make the world see that beauty and know that it is a love letter from God.
