The new Cowboys Stadium is strategically positioned to enhance the enjoyment and comfort of Arlington, Texas visitors and residents. The north and west side of the stadium are bordered by busy Collins Street and Randol Mill Road. Instead of being isolated, the new stadium is located in the midst of a multitude of food choices and businesses that sell most of the personal items you forgot to pack for your trip.

The Cowboy Stadium parking lots usually open 1 ½ to 2 hours before an event. The Stadium doors usually open an hour before an event starts. Event fans can park and walk across Randol Mill Road to the Wal-Mart Super Store, which also includes a fast food restaurant.

Approximately two blocks to the east of Cowboy Stadium, and Wal-Mart, is the Rangers Ballpark with its museum and gift shop. If you cross the street on the east side of Rangers Ballpark (Ballpark Way), you can visit the Arlington Visitor Information Center and get free maps and brochures along with advice from the employees.

Going back to the Cowboy Stadium, if you walk, or drive, north on Collins Street, you will pass several businesses and fast food restaurants. At the intersection of Collins Street and Road to Six Flags, you will see several shops and restaurants on the left. Some are located on the south side of Road to Six Flags. Even more businesses are located on the north side of Road to Six Flags in Lincoln Square. There are several shops and restaurants facing all four sides of the block with parking on the outer edges. Lincoln Square is approximately 6/10 of a mile from the corner of Collins Street and Randol Mill Road. It would be a good idea to wear comfortable shoes, if you decide to walk instead of drive.

When reserving rooms at an Arlington hotel / motel, ask if they have shuttle service to and from DFW Airport and if there is a charge. Some hotel shuttle services are free.

Also when reserving your room, ask if the Arlington Trolley stops at their hotel, the hours the trolley cars operate, and if their route stops at the Cowboys Stadium. Currently, all trolleys go to Six Flags. But at Six Flags, you may have to switch to a different trolley car with a route that will stop at the Cowboys Stadium. Many of the Arlington hotels give you access to the free Arlington trolley cars for seasonal transportation to and from:

Six Flags over Texas
Hurricane Harbor
Arlington Convention Center
Rangers Ballpark
Arlington Visitor Information Center

If you live in Arlington, drive there from another location, or rent a vehicle when you arrive by airplane or train, you will need to consider that parking for Stadium events vary from $25 to $40. There are many parking lots for the Cowboys Stadium, but all are not available for event attendees. Some parking spots are reserved for employees, season ticket holders, or owners of VIP tickets. In my opinion, Lot 10 parking is the closest to the entrance for single event ticket holders.

A taxi stand / drop off and pick-up area is located at the entrance to the West Plaza. If you are going north on Collins Street, turn right at Cowboys Way (street at the north end of Lot 11) and then turn left into the taxi service area.
