Skin: Baking soda is a mild abrasive and makes a great exfoliate for the skin. Sprinkle a few teaspoons on the palm of your hand and add a few drops of water. Rub over your entire face using your fingertips. Your face will be smooth and soft. This helps with acne as well. If you have dull skin, use it like soap in the shower to help shed dead skin cells. Add baking soda to a hot bath to moisturize and detoxify the skin.
Hair: Baking Soda can be used as a shampoo on the hair effectively removing oil and product buildup. It is good for dandruff and helps to exfoliate the scalp, while adding shine to hair.
Teeth: Dip your toothbrush in baking soda and add a little bit of peroxide to your mouth. This can be used to replace toothpaste and is a proven method of whitening the teeth.
Underarms: Baking soda can be used as a natural deodorant. Although it does not have an odor, it works as a deodorizer and keeps the underarms dry.
Feet: Baking soda mixed with essential oils makes for a pleasant moisturizing foot soak. It softens skin while serving as a fungicide. It can also be added to shoes to eliminate odors.
Small changes such as these will not only impact our environment, but also will save money. Buy a box, or even better a large bag, of baking soda today and put it to the test.
