I have been on a quest to switch one product a month to a more eco-friendly sister. I still have a long way to go but here is my start.
Jason Ester- C Gentle Facial Wash is no tested on animals and is orange oil infusion really suds up well and smells so fresh. This has replaced my Olay product by a long shot. 6 fl oz costs about $10.45 at www.iherb.com The C Complex and Beta Hydroxy Acids are very very good for your skin so while going green, I know my skin is getting the nutrition it needs to survive the seasons and this product is paraben free! Burt's Bee has a vast product line for all of our skincare needs. I have several favorites. First I love the Very Volumizing Pomegranate & Soy shampoo and conditioner. It made my fine hair feel full and very full of body- something very hard for us fine haired people! The shampoo does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate- this is the stuff that is bad for you.
My next Burt's Bee product that I just can't live without is the Lemon Butter Cuticle Crème. This is an essential for me at work and at home. Heck I even have this in my travel toiletry bag so I never leave home with out it. I really got bad cuticles after my son and this really keeps my hands feeling and looking like a woman rather then a MAM (moms and manhands as my husband calls it).
Being such a fan of Burt's Bee I used the Mama Bee Belly Butter during my entire pregnancy and well after I had my son- so many people told me that moisturizing the belly helps prevent stretch marks- I don' know if I was lucky or it worked but I am so fortunate to have a stretch free tummy post baby!
I was really hesitant on switching the need all deodorant but I took the plunge and tried Tom's of Main Lemongrass Deodorant. I was a bit skeptical but to my surprise it really works well. The lemongrass is a nice clean fresh scent that I have come to enjoy and it is very affordable. I get mine from www.drugstore.com for about $5.49 and yes it is aluminum free. The Tom's brand as some other scents but lemongrass is my favorite.
So going eco-friendly isn't so bad after all. It's better for me as I am not putting all that junk in my body nor am I supporting efforts that hurt our environment. You should defiantly try some of these products; I don't think you will be disappointed!
