What types of groceries are green? You will now be able to find any number of types of groceries in an organic form. Produce is the largest selection that you will find in an organic form. What does it mean when produce is organic? It means that there are absolutely no pesticides sprayed onto the fruit or vegetable products. This is not only better for the environment, it is also better for you.
Pesticides are what can make you sick from ecoli and such. Also, when pesticides are used, it can effect the ozone and the earths' atmosphere. This is why you can go green simply by purchasing organic fruits and vegetables. Another product that is good to buy in an organic form is poultry. Why is that? First of all, organic poultry is not fed any sort of hormones. That means that the animal itself was more healthy. Also, many times organic poultry is also free range. This means that the animal was treated well. This goes the same for beef as well.
You can also go green when you buy household cleaning products. There are many cleaners, laundry detergents as well as other products that are organic. These products are often made out of plant extracts and can have a more gentle as well as effective result. For laundry there is even a detergent that is extremely concentrated, made out of plant extracts and also has fabric softener in it as well! That one product is really a good investment for you as well. There are other products such as organic toothpaste, deodorant and shampoos as well.
Most grocery stores are now selling tote bags to use for your shopping as well. These can usually be purchased at the store for around one dollar. However, you can use them at any type of grocery store and you will receive about five cents back every time that you use them. By using these bags instead of the plastic bags, you are saving the store money and you are also helping out the environment. This is because plastic bags are not very biodegradable. They are also made out of petroleum which can help increase the price of gasoline.
