Changing your lifestyle can be a challenge, however doing nutritional research will help. People who try to go vegetarian without doing any research usually can only stick to it for one or two months. One reason is that they start to feel tired and worn out. This is caused when you don't get enough protein in your diet. A lack of protein can cause fatigue, headache, muscle ache, and eventually a loss of muscle mass. It is important to find out what foods you can eat so that you get enough protein. There are foods that if you put them together they will make a complete protein like rice and beans. The best way to find out what you need nutritionally is to see a certified nutritionalist. If that is not possible then check with your public library to find the information you need.
Eating well without meat is easier now than ever before. Most large supermarket chains now carry a variety of high protein alternitives to meat, such as tofu. You can choose from an abundance of foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grins, legumes, and nuts. The important thing is balance. You need to eat a wide variety of things and make sure that they are the right things to keep you healthy. You can purchase cookbooks that can help you to keep your diet from getting boring by showing you many ways to cook without meat.
Even if your not ready to go completely meatless cutting back can be a good thing. Some people find that gradually changing your diet is easier to do. Going with a vegetarian diet may or may not be right for you. You might start by setting a small goal first. Try one week then maybe two weeks. Gradually move up to a month or more. See how you do and if you can handle it. Don't give up! If you cheat a little, forgive yourself and move on. Could this be a lifestyle thats right for you? Why don't you try it and see.
