GOLA - Budget Rubbish?

Steven Tyler
I feel that the brand Gola has changed little from years ago. My mom actually grew up in a single-parent household and all they could afford was Gola boots. These boots were made for people with budgets. They were "plastic boots" because this was in the days of pre- unscrewable studs, so all you got was on complete molded plastic effort. These boots were economic-friendly in replace of those who could not afford the real leather boots. They were not the "coolest" boots at all and people would not even dare to wear them back in the late 70's and 80's. These boots can be compared to a lower budget boot today where as everyone knows that a good boot today is "Timberland."

As far as Gola coming back in style today, I do not see it happening. Some consider it to be retro-wear and some people do buy it, but I think they look totally ridiculous. Some retro wear is hard to get and one of a kind, but I can not see people flocking over retro wear that this company could not even give away 20 years ago. I would not be surprised if the Gola on the shelves today is the overstock they had from over 20 years ago that no one would buy.

Though Gola does not seem to be to popular in my opinion, some are actually overwhelmed by this company. Gola is actually an English company and has been in history for over 100 years. Some admire the sole of the Gola because it does not grab the surface of the ground, making runners faster. The shoes they produce are also very light weight. One of the most popular brands of Gola were the Gola Garrier style. For boots, many preferred to wear the Gola Europa. The Gola Europa had excellent leather, they were a good shape and had an orange flash.

Besides being just a shoe and boot company, Gola has always cared about what customer's wanted. My uncle had actually visited the factory in Bozeat and got invited to the Christmas lunch. The company made him feel part of it.

Overall, though Gola may not have been very popular or a head-turner to myself, Gola is a top company, and they put everything they've got into turning out a top quality product. They are affordable shoes and great quality. What more can one ask for?

So wear whatever suits you best!!
