Gold Medalist Hannah Teter Sells Panties to Raise Money for Doctors Without Borders
Snowboarder Hannah Teter Sells Panties in Hopes to Raise $100,000 for Doctors Without Borders
Teter is known for her humanitarian efforts all over the world. In 2008, she started Hannah's Gold which raises money through the sale of Vermont maple syrup. She has raised money for Darfur, donated all her prize money to Kiridigon, Kenya to help build schools, dig fresh water wells and provide water filtration, and she is the spokesperson for Boarding for Breast Cancer. And now she is ready to combat war and help Haiti through Doctors Without Borders.
Hannah Teter's goal is to raise $100,000 for Doctors Without Borders by May through the sales of Sweet Cheeks panties. Each pair of panties retails for $18 with $5 per pair going to the charity. The website encourages buyers to Pair Up for Peace. A new pair of undies will be released each month with a new saying emblazoned on the rear, February's panties say "Make Love Not War" on the rear and Sassy Pants on the front. April 1st, 2010 will see the release of Airline Embassadors.
Doctors Without Borders was founded in 1971 and is made up of 27,000 members independent of any political, military or religious agendas. There only goal is to help those in need. Teter's other involvement with charity includes buying land for AIDs Victims in Africa as well as supporting clean water projects there. She is a supporter of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and a part of PETA's Save the Seals campaign.
