When we arrived, we thought the outward appearance was very pleasing with all the glimmering gold-mirrored siding. Once inside, we were equally pleased with the decor and atmosphere. The lobby is very exquisitely designed and you almost think you're in Las Vegas! The entryway floors are covered in marble and there is a spectacular wall of infinity fountains behind the reception desk.
The employee's who checked us in were very kind and willing to help in any way possible. The bellhops were some of the best we've encountered in quite some time. They are available 24/7 and will go to your car to load your luggage, take it to your room, and unload it in the room. At check-out time, they will repeat the process. We were impressed at how eager they seemed to perform their job. At many places, the staff adequately performs their job but does not smile or seem happy like they did at the Gold Strike.
The lobby separates the casino from the hotel. The decor is modern and has a lavish appearance with crystal chandeliers and marble floors. The lobby has a nice gift shop and several eating places for you to choose from. There are buffet-style eateries as well as sit down full service restaurants. The food selection is amazing at the buffet and the prices were very reasonable. They also have free wireless Internet service available in the food court and the connection was very fast, reliable and easy to access. I wish they had free Internet in the guest rooms, but having it in the food court is better than not having it at all.
The hotel is divided into 2 towers each having 4 individual elevators. The building is 31 stories tall and has approximately 1,100 rooms and suites, with your choice of smoking and non-smoking floors. Be sure to ask for a room that faces the mighty Mississippi River - the views are magnificent and relaxing.
The facility also has 2 large hot tubs and an indoor swimming pool. Both the hot tubs and swimming areas are clean and maintained. They also have a superb spa and work out facility. The spa prices are reasonable and the people who give massages do an excellent job.
I have stayed in a variety of rooms at this particular location over the years and have never been disappointed. The carpet has always been very clean and never any worn spots. The beds are very comfortable and soft. There is plenty of cover on the beds and extra blankets in the closet. The pillows are plush and there are extras in the dresser. The heating and air conditioning is done in a central air type. The curtains are very thick and do not allow any light to come through.
The bathroom is very large and has all of the amenities you could possibly need such as a built in hair drier, coffee pot, glass cups, etc. The floors in the bathroom are marble and the marble looks nice and clean, not dirty or chipped. There is plenty of counter space by the sink area and a large vanity mirror with good lighting for dressing and putting on makeup. The showers always have hot water and plenty of water pressure.
All of the decor is very tasteful and makes you feel like you're at a resort. The television has plenty of channels to choose from if you want to watch the regular TV lineup, but there are also channels that teach you how to play the different games in the casino.
It may seem trivial, but one of the best things I like about this chain is the free lotion they put in the rooms. It smells so good and makes my skin soft and silky. I need to ask them what brand it is next time I visit.
The casino has plenty of gaming action for the gambler. There are about 1,300 reel and video slot machines, 56 table games, and a 14-table non-smoking poker room. We mostly play Texas Hold 'Em and 7-Card Stud but they offer other poker games as well. I think the game table dealers at the Gold Strike are among some of the friendliest and most helpful. They patiently answer people's questions and never appear to rush you to place a bet. The slot denominations start at a penny and go up to $100. I personally like playing progressive Wheel of Fortune, Blazing Sevens, and Double Diamond machines. As for the alcohol, we don't drink, but those who do can partake of the complimentary cocktails. Oh, and don't forget to sign up for your Player's Club card to earn points while you play. Then redeem the points for comps and discounts.
So, if you are ever in Tunica, Mississippi be sure to stay at the Gold Strike Casino and Hotel. You'll be pleased with the hotel accommodations and might just be a big jackpot winner while playing slots, blackjack poker or some other fun game in the casino!

Sounds like a really cool and fun place to go, great review and thanks for your comment. I am feeling better but kids are still real sick. Thanks hon
Great review and very accurate. I enjoy visiting the Gold Strilke while we are in Robinsonville (Tunica), I have played their slots, had a wonderful massage, enjoyed the food court and the staff is very friendly. We do not stay at Gold Strike only because I like to have an outdoor pool, but if we ever go when the weather is cold we will have to try their rooms.
Well done. Sounds like a fun place.
Thanks for the great review.
